Overview of position

Treatment of severe acute malnutrition (SAM) is one of the key components of PND activities serviced through BPHS NGOS. It is primarily implemented in the emergency affected provinces where the prevalence of SAM is high. The services will be expanded as part of emergency response once there is emergency induced SAM cases. Therapeutic nutrition supplies (e.g F-75, F-100 and RUTF) are core elements of the services. PND manage the overall supply chain including forecasting, requesting, distributing, and collecting the reports on a quarterly basis.

Purpose of the post:

The main objective of this assignment is to support PND to manage quality IMAM services delivery as inpatient care and outpatient care. Also, to manage the therapeutic supply and minimize the nutrition supply stock outs through improved nutrition supply management system. The technical assistance will also be responsible for emergency related activities in PND including coordinating with Nutrition cluster. 

Job Description

  • Develop, design and maintain the existing polio website, with regular content updates and ensure the visual look and its functionalities are enhanced to provide a better experience to users.
  • Localize the website in Dari and Pashto Languages to reach a wider audience and ensure a consistent visual language on the website by introducing fixed styles in templates ensuring consistency in fonts, formatting, icons, images, layout techniques.
  • Act as the focal point gathering website content between the polio partners (UNICEF, WHO and EOC) 
  • Develop a user manual to perform content upload, system maintenance and administration.   
  • Ensure all webpages should incorporate functionalities to guarantee the latest information on that sub-section is displayed.
  • Ensure domain and webhosting tools are updated and subsequence payments are made on time to avoid website removal.
  • Link the website with search engines google etc. and ensure the existing digital platforms are linked to the website
  • Ensure the hosting space and domain are up to date with relevant charges paid in advance to ensure the website is always up and running.
  • Coordinate with social media officers on content development and information dissemination
 

Job Requirements

Requirement

  • Proven experience working with various social platforms and with a comprehensive understanding of social media, paid promotion, and analytics tools
  • Knowledge and skill for website development and maintenance and promotion
  • Understanding of, polio vaccinations, or interest in, children’s health issues and their wellbeing
  • Excellent writing, verbal communication skills with the ability to write for multiple platforms and audiences.
  • Willingness to work outside normal office hours in emergencies or where required.

Qualification:  

  • Education: University degree in Computer Science, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Work Experience: Minimum 1 year of practical professional work experience in communication, web-development, print, broadcast or interactive digital media.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English, Pashto and Dari
