Community Action for Healing Poverty Organization (CAHPO) is Afghanistan-based NGO (www.chapo.com ) has been established in 2013 by a group of expertise in support of professional advisers and volunteers in response to the needs. was that people affected by different means of violence should be involved in decision-making for positive change in the development process of the country. 

CAHPO is a member of different coordination bodies E.g ACBAR where we share our programs with other NGOs and partners.  CAHPO is an active partner of UN OCHA, AHF, and FAO.

Job Description

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and guide the SP water team members at the Province level and conducting the assessment of project situation in Uruzgan province, through interviews and …. link to the assigned projects (project outputs).
  • Create own appropriate data collection based on the understanding and ability of staff members. Introduce other data base to staff.
  • Ensure the plan accomplishes high-quality implementation that the water rehabilitated sources to have long term and sustainable impact on the target group.
  • Develop and maintain a relationship with other players working in the water sector (NGOs, MRRD, etc) – build up the capacity of local staff and check with them if monitoring takes place properly.
  • Strive for community involvement and contribution in all project stages together with staff members. At least 10%
  • Submit weekly and monthly, monitoring, narrative reports to PM (south program Responsible) according to plan
  • Assist in formulation and design (identify areas of intervention, assessment, and drafting new data) of new projects at the regional level.
  • Monitor and document (reports, pictures) all completed activities and initiate internal evaluation together with the Southern Project  Manager.
  • Report on strengths and weaknesses of implementation methodologies and general lessons learned and life stories
  • Identify where technical skills in management to the CAHPO team embers as well as to the local partner staff are required  
  • Show initiative in developing new project ideas and proposals in line with the program plan and CAHPO Policy Plan.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation of field visits/meetings/workshops. File all project documents Southern in the Project Manager's office.
  • Any other official tasks as assigned by the Program Manager.
  • Collaborate with CAHPO other project staff, Capacity building, female activities, M&E, and hydrogeology issues in the project areas.
  • Authority
  • The WASH engineer is authorized by the PM with respect to the tasks & responsibilities, which have been delegated to him above. These tasks & responsibilities will be carried out within the agreed Project documents and Strategic plan.  Water Engineers is accountable to the PD as well. 
  • External contacts
  • The government on a provincial/district and local level (some time in national level), plan will be prepared by the employee
  • (I)NGO’s, CBO’s and other civil society groups, in link to project issues
  • Beneficiary communities in line with partners
  • Community leaders and influential of the area.
  •  Internal contacts
  • PM (Project manager)
  • CAHPO other program staff in relation to other project issues
  • Project and Technical staff (of partners and CAHPO)
  • Support staff if need be

 Supervisory

  • Have coaching and facilitation role for CAHPO staff, partners, and beneficiaries.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor or university degree in Hydro Geology or other relevant fields, social development-oriented
  • At least four years relevant experience with INGO’s
  • Familiar with the concepts of facilitation and coaching roles
  • Familiar with Project Cycle Management
  • Knowing M&E at all levels
  • Experience in surveying, data collection, and analysis
  • Good in English (both spoken and written command)

Special requirements

Up to 1/2 of the time required for travel to the project areas, the position is 100% based on the provincial level and possibly change for other project areas mostly in the south. Willing to work extra hours if needed.
