Afghan Youth Services Organization (AYSO) is a National Afghan NGO registered in 2006 with the MoEc of Afghanistan with the registration No :397.AYSO since came in to being has develop ,successfully implemented and provided direct assistance services in different   sectors such as health ,educational ,Capacity building ,GBV Prevention and Response ,Peace, Justice Research and Surveys human rights and awareness projects and programs with the technical and financial support of several UN Agencies such as UNDP ,UNICEF,WFP and WHO,AYSO has implemented projects with government ministries and departments as well as has been being implementing partner with AAH/USAID ,FHI,BARC,AADA,HEWAD and other National and International Organization

 

Job Description

  • Manage cold chain system according to UNICEF protocols.
  • Conducting vaccination activities according to national immunization standards
  • Determines appropriate vaccine type and dose volume appropriate for each client.
  • Prepares site and administers IM or IC vaccine per standard protocol.
  • Disposes of sharps in appropriate receptacle.
  • Documents vaccination on record and immunization card.
  • Recognize, respond to, and alert emergency medical personnel of possible post vaccination reactions.
  • As vaccine preparer, will pre-fill syringes a few at a time, follow a strict protocol for labeling and handling prefilled syringes and keep supplies stocked.
  • Responsible for entering vaccine lot numbers and other required information onto patient’s Immunization Card.
  • Counsel and educate patients, the family, and community about immunization and in relevant areas of health
 

Job Requirements

  • Degree: At least baccalaureate, and graduated from initial vaccination course at the National EPI program
  • Experience: At least one year working experience in vaccination is an advantage in MoPH/BPHS health facilities;
  • Other skills: Knowledge of local languages, good communication and counseling skills
  • He/She will be responsible for provision of EPI services and need to be trained on vaccination refresher courses.
