Watan's Social and Technical services Association «WSTA» is a humanitarian organization, established in 1992 for the purpose of assisting vulnerable Afghan returnees and IDPs, This organization has been registered with ministry of Economy and has the permission to work in all over the country. As well as WSTA has membership of ANCB, ACBAR and based on code No. WON and registration No. OPS-CR-0535, with estimable UNOPS office.

Job Description

According to OCHA, millions of people are in need of humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan, and the country is experiencing a serious economic crisis of its kind in the last four decades. The conditions are getting worse each day due to unstable political situation, natural disasters and many other inter-linked barriers. In the last 2 decades, the system, which was built with the support of international community, is no more there, which is a potential risk for a country like Afghanistan. Winter is approaching which may trigger further risks such as health problems, deaths, etc. to millions of people especially those affected by conflicts and natural disasters.

It is in this context that WSTA has designed this project to deliver life-saving winter support assistance to most vulnerable IDPs and non-displaced affected population as per periodization of the shelter cluster in Salang and Surkh-e-Parsa districts of Parwan province, and Ajristan district of Ghazni province. We will provide cluster standard “cash for heating support family”, “in-kind winter clothing package and “in-kind blanket package to 1170 IDPs and non-displaced affected population in project target locations. We are equally allocating the assistance on district level.

Under direct supervision of the security focal point, the unarmed guards will provide necessary support to address safety of personnel, workplace, property, goods, etc. in our Kabul and Ghazni field offices, and they will also act as a crowd controller during the distributions. Only salary is considered with no other allowances.

  1. In coordination with Project Officer choosing a safe and secured spot in camps for distribution.
  2. Overseeing the entire distribution site, manual labors to ensure safety for the beneficiaries.
  3. Organizing beneficiaries in straight line at the distribution through strong and positive communication and with a gracious attitude
  4. Constantly in communication with Field Supervisor .
  5. Performing all other tasks and responsibilities assigned by Field Supervisor.
  6. Possesses strong organizational and problem solving skills within a fast-paced environment.
  7. Must be a self-starter and internally driven to success and hard work.
  8. Possesses strong cross-cultural communication skills, both written and verbal.
  9. Must be a humble team player.
  10. Ability to be flexible and adaptable, taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
  11. High level of integrity and stewardship.
 

Job Requirements

  1. Experience in Unarmed-Guard and crowed control activities at community level.
  2. Humanitarian spirit
  3. Good organization,
  4. Interpersonal and communication skills
  5. Good team interaction and positive attitude  
  6. Patience, good relations with other people, good capacity to work in a team, precision, work under stressful situation.
  7. Ability to manage beneficiary according to local culture
  8. Fluent in Dari, Pashto some English knowledge
  9. High flexibility on the location area
  10. Good team management and positive attitude
  11. Knowledge of intervention area is a plus
