Job Description

The training consultant will develop and contextualize the training manual and materials on women’s rights under sharia law. The consultant is also responsible to conduct three-days training for 50 beneficiaries (25 at Bamyan, and 25 at Kunduz) on the women’s rights under sharia law. The consultant will work with the EPDO’s staff to cover the following topics:

  1. Women’s rights under sharia law, women work, education, access to services and the importance of their engagement in social activities;
  2. Islam and justice, inheritance, and property rights of women in sharia law;
  3. Rights to participate in decision making process;

Both individuals and consultancy firms can apply for this position and the consultant is aimed to develop training materials and deliver the sessions in the targeted provinces. This is worth to mention that the training in both target provinces should be delivered by female trainer/s.

Job Location: Kabul with travel to provinces including Kunduz and Bamyan

Deliverables:

  • Develop training manual and materials in English and Dari on the given topics including training on women rights under sharia law;
  • Conduct three-days training for the participants in both concerned provinces;
  • Prepare training agenda and finalization of the agenda by incorporating the EPDO’s comments;
  • Develop presentations and other required training materials, and sharing them with EPDO for review and comments;
  • All presentations and support training materials to be shared in soft and hard to participants on the first day of the training;
  • Develop a detailed trainer guide;
  • Develop a preliminary curriculum-based pre and post-test questionnaire;
  • Printing of the training manual and materials;
  • Based on the completed questionnaire the consultant will carry out an analysis with recommendations;
  • Collect the quality photos of the training and share them with EPDO.
  • Writing a structured and concise training report;

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • University degree in social science or related field
  • Demonstrated experience and success in delivering the courses on women rights from sharia law, human rights, women inheritance law and other similar training/courses.
  • Good administration and interpersonal skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Fluent in English and local languages such as Dari and Pashto
 

Submission Guideline:

Interested applicants to send a technical and financial proposal for the work in line with the following guidance: 

Capability statement: How the consultant or firm is structured for the assignment, the role each staff will play including the CVs of the key personnel who will take part in the consultancy. 

Technical Proposal: The consultant’s understanding and interpretation of the Terms of Reference, a detailed methodology on how the capacity building training will be conducted including training schedule and approaches which consultant may deem fit for this assignment.

Financial proposal: Itemized budget proposal that should include the consultancy fees, operational costs, and all associated costs including VAT and tax.   

References: Names, addresses, telephone numbers of three organizations that you have conducted evaluations for within the last three years, that will serve as your professional referees.
