About Marie Stopes International Afghanistan

Marie Stopes International Afghanistan (MSIA) was established after registration with government of Afghanistan in August 2002. MSIA follows the mission statement of MSI, which is Improve Afghan women’s health and wellbeing so that they can in turn build strong and healthy families.. Our focus is to contribute in reducing maternal mortality ratio, providing quality and sustainable MCH/RH and family planning services and information across all provinces of Afghanistan in coordination with Ministry of Public Health, Afghanistan.

MSIA is currently operating in 14 provinces of Afghanistan namely, Kabul, Balkh, Herat, Jawzjan Faryab, Nengarhar, Baghlan, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Takhar, Samangan, Helmand, kandahar and Kapisa.

MSIA delivers MCH/RH and family planning services through various channels such that centres, outreaches, social marketing and MS Ladies. With the Power of Ten strategy, MSI focuses on strategic and technical leadership in producing, interpreting and using high quality evidence to fulfill its mission. MSI is keeping the client at the center of our work and strengthening our development as an evidence-based organization.

 

Job Description

  • Laise/request and process vouchers for quality and training related issues
  • Collect evidence and supportive document for voucher clearance
  • Ensure training reports are developed and filed both hard and soft copies
  • Ensure update competency assessment checklist for each service is provided to every single provider and filing is well maintained both in SO and site level
  • Ensure MSIA update guidelines are available on each site and all providers have access to them
  • Ensure every provider has updated job aids/ wheel chart/ flip chart and other mandatory documents
  • Ensure all sites have update incident management documents both soft and hard copies
  • Ensure all action plans related to incident are being followed and evidence for completion are in place
  • Ensure every newly recruited provider has received induction and signed document of induction, duty of care, code of conduct and contract is maintained in HR files
  • Ensure all providers have received HBS vaccine and close follow-up should be maintained for newly recruited providers
  • Keep records and inventory of all training equipment, manage supplies and coordinate with relevant team members to ensure adequate equipment and resources are available for training
  • With discussion of line manager, request and process procurement of all training needs
  • Assist trainers in developing and organizing training, printing necessary handouts pre and post training, keep participant attendance, maintaining training reports
  • Take actively participation in minute recording during MAT / or any other quality and training meetings
  • Collaborate with other channel leads and collect supervision visits from channel leads and report back to line manager
  • Assist quality assurance officers during internal/ CAVA or quality technical assurance assistance
  • Assist all quality and training officers during internal audit process/ training 
  • Assistant quality / training officers during MEM drill exercises in maintaining attendance, MEM drill reports and CA checklists 
  • Any other relevant tasks assigned by line manager/Team Leader

 

Key Mesure:

  • HR file of all providers has induction, duty of care and code of conduct signed
  • Incident Management documents are available at sites evidence do exist for each action point for red and amber incident
  • Competency assessment checklists for each service for each provider is updated and do exist
  • All guidelines are available at site
  • Provider’s HBs vaccine is well followed
  • All reports/attendance for  MEM drill does exist

Job Requirements

  • Midwife /Undergraduate degree in social science, management-related discipline required (preferably female)
  • 3- 5 years Proven experience in management or administrative field
  • Solid experience in project management and working in collaborative environment
  • Ability to influence others within the organization while being open to other people’s views through negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and monitoring internal procedures for adherence to regulations and policies related to projects.
  • Fluent in English/ and both local languages (speaking and written)
  • Familiar with Windows program (word, excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiar to use photocopy machine, printer and scan
