Job Description

Afghan Youth Education and Health Organization known as (AYEHO) is an independent, non-profitable, nonpartisan, and non-governmental organization registered with the Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan. AYEHO provides support to youth and children who work on the streets, orphans, children in conflict with law, children with disabilities, and their families in Afghanistan.

AYEHO established in 2018, headquartered in Kabul with two provincial offices and properly structured and active business and operational setups in all 34 provinces of the country, has arguably served the most marginalized and vulnerable children, youth, and families in the most disadvantaged and remote areas of the country. Besides this AYEHO is well-known and established Afghan NGO in delivers professional and technical assistance training and development services to targeted audience in Afghanistan, at central, provincial, and district levels, in all the leading development and governance sectors of the country.

AYEHO has been working for community empowerment at the grassroots level for many years. The emergence of AYEHO was based on the goals of securing the rights of the most deprived and vulnerable communities through the promotion of child rights and women's rights. Enhancing access to basic health services, quality primary education, and socioeconomic development facilities are among the integral parts of AYEHO. Based on these goals, the AYEHO's mission is to empower and improve the quality of life of marginalized and vulnerable communities in less-developed parts of the country. This mission is to be accomplished by launching sustainable and replicable projects as well as building partnerships. By utilizing valuable skills and resources such as participatory research, development, knowledge management, and advocacy, that will tangibly bring about change in the lives of women and children.

 

Job Description:

Duties and responsibilities:

 

  • The teacher trainer will assist the CBE and ALC teachers with CBE and ALC program policies
  • Identify and asses the training needs of CBE and ALC teachers.
  • Design, Implementation, and Monitoring of capacity-building training of CBE and ALC Teachers
  • Develop training manuals and modules for CBE and ALC teachers.
  • Assist and coordinate with School Management Shuras (SMS) for smooth training implementation
  • Coordinate with hub schools for the exchange of documents related to CBE and ALC students and teachers
  • Monitor the CBE and ALC teachers’ teaching practices and provide with required feedback to the targeted CBE and ALC teachers.
  • Report the outcomes of the training and monitoring to the Program manager.
  • Closely coordinate with the provincial coordinator, community mobilizer, and district education officer and Prepare quality reports about the training events and monitoring.
  • Provide pedagogical and methodic support to CBE and ALC teachers to enhance the quality of training at the field level
  • Assist CBE and ALC teachers in their professional development
  • Support the CBE and ALC teachers to successfully cascade the required knowledge and information
  • Conduct training for CBE and ALC teachers and prepare reports of all training and capacity building events.
  • Ensure that all CBE and ALC teachers understand how to develop lesson plans, evaluation methods, exam papers, attendance sheets, and result sheets according to MoU guidelines. If required, provide the teachers with adequate practical examples and support to make sure the teachers have got enough relevant skills.
  • Regularly monitor and identify the problems teachers face suggest alternative solutions on time and seriously follow up to ensure the problems are solved.
  • Should be able to develop PowerPoint slides during training for quality and effective outcomes
  • Provide on-time support as a mentor to CBE and ALC teachers and conduct discussion mentoring and coaching sessions as required.
  • Coordinate with the District Education Officer and other relevant provincial staff to resolve the identified problems about CBEs.
  • Identify the teacher's professional development-related issues and solve them in close coordination with the district education officer and relevant field staff.
  • Assist the teachers in preserving the teaching and learning documents and develop portfolios for students
  • Coordinate with District Education Departments, social mobilizers, and education officers for an effective training result.
  • Conduct Pre-and Post Training Tests to ensure the quality of learning and efficiency of the training
  • Assess the different sessions of the training in order for quality professional development
  • Develop continuous professional development plans for CBE and ALC teachers
  • Conduct a need assessment of targeted groups in the districts
  • Evaluate the capacity and progress of CBE and ALC teachers as required
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports to the program manager about relevant tasks
  • Identify any apparent issues in the project and report them to the direct supervisor or to seniors in his/her absence.

 

 

Job Requirements

Education and/ Work Experience Requirements:

 

  • Have a University degree in education, literature, or a related field (Master's preferred)
  • Have enough ability in report writing and analytical skills
  • Be a tolerant person and successfully deal with probably high volume of different sessions
  • Have 5 years of working experience in school teaching, TTC teaching, training and supervision
  • Have enough ability in planning, conducting trainings for teachers in pressure situations
  • Have ability to flexibly accomplish the tasks in the given time frame
  • Should have strong knowledge of local languages and adequate knowledge in the English language
  •  Should have enough methodological knowledge to meaningfully deliver the skills and information to teachers
  • Must have the ability to develop training plans, attendance sheets,s, and other needed documentation.
  • Has enough skills in constructively delivering the information and skills to the teachers

Any other task as falls necessary and/or assigned by the supervisor, commenting, revising, and translating questionnaires and data collected from the field
