Overview of position

Treatment of severe acute malnutrition (SAM) is one of the key components of PND activities serviced through BPHS NGOS. It is primarily implemented in the emergency affected provinces where the prevalence of SAM is high. The services will be expanded as part of emergency response once there is emergency induced SAM cases. Therapeutic nutrition supplies (e.g F-75, F-100 and RUTF) are core elements of the services. PND manage the overall supply chain including forecasting, requesting, distributing, and collecting the reports on a quarterly basis.

Purpose of the post:

The main objective of this assignment is to support PND to manage quality IMAM services delivery as inpatient care and outpatient care. Also, to manage the therapeutic supply and minimize the nutrition supply stock outs through improved nutrition supply management system. The technical assistance will also be responsible for emergency related activities in PND including coordinating with Nutrition cluster. 

Job Description

This is a field work position coordinating with the MIS associate and Project Managers and assisting in day to day beneficiary enumeration component of the project. S/he will be the collector of information of the returnee, IDP and host community.

  • Conduct door to door assessment surveys for profiling communities in target locations.
  • Contact the beneficiaries two days earlier to inform them about the household survey and get specific address of the registered families.
  • Visit the household at their location and take the bio-metric data of each member of the household
  • Collect the required data by filling-up the questionnaire based on the responses of the family members provide.
  • Upload the data in the system on daily bases, Report their activities and progress to the community mobilization team and information management system on daily bases.
  • The surveyors shall receive an orientation training on the survey tools and equipment.

 Results Expected:

•To help and support UN-Habitat on household data collection vulnerability assessment under Adaptive responses: Evidence based recovery support to IDP or returnees in Afghanistan in JAA province.

•Empowering women and a step forward in gender balance in UN-Habitat. 8 Male and 8 Female

 

Job Requirements

  1. Education:
  • At least 12 grade graduates (higher level preferred)
  1. Experience: 
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in data collection, uploading and familiarity with current data collection systems.
  1. Language:
  • Good speaking, reading and writing in Dari and Pashto are required to communicate with staff and beneficiaries. English is one of the Official UN languages which is necessary for this post.
  1. Other: 
  • Familiarity with electronic Data system
  • Good communication skills – both written and interpersonal will be essential, as most of the work will be done through a process of consultation at all levels and Experience in working with IDPs and returnees.
  • Knowledge of UN rules and regulations is an advantage.
  • Preferable knowledge of MS-Office applications.
  • Knowledge of local area and community is essential.
