Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Storekeeper is responsible for well receiving and checking of all incoming supplies which include different type of food commodities. The incumbent is expected to ensure accurate and precise records and stock are maintained; data discrepancies are recognized and brought to the attention of the appropriate supervision and make sure warehouse is maintained in good and hygienic order. Ability to handle a large volume of food and non-food items in a well-organized manner.

II. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Receives, stores, and issues food commodities, supplies and equipment and compiles records of supply transactions aboard ship: Verifies that supplies received are listed on requisitions and invoices.
• Report on the quality, quantity of the received commodities and ensure that quantities dispatched as per consignor documents match with quantities received and endorse documents.
• Stores food commodities, supplies and equipment in safe manner and according to HEERO and donor agencies storing policy.
• Compiles report of loading, unloading and transportation expenditures.
• Accurately fill the waybill and release order of food commodities and supplies.
• Keep update the food commodities and supplies ledger.
• Provide monthly warehouse report and submit to HEERO Kabul main and Sub offices.
• Provides action plan at each warehouse and district level.
• Check food commodities and supplies from time to time
• Keep updated records on stack cards and inventory lists
• Make periodic physical inventory checks;
• Record the number and the kinds of food commodities and supplies.
• Organize the food commodity and supply in its designated areas and in accordance to the rule, regulation and storing policy of HEERO and donor agencies.
• Ensure Security of food commodity and supply.
• Check possible damages or scratches.
III. QUALIFICATIONS: (Minimum Requirements)
A. EDUCATION:
At least High School (12th class) graduate, university degree is preferable
B. WORK EXPERIENCE:
At least two years’ experience in emergency response programs and related fields.
Previous work experience with WFP projects will be a bonus for the candidate.
C. SKILLS:
• Manage theft prevention
• Interpersonal and communication skills
• Data management and documentation skills
• Computer literacy and good command of word processing and spreadsheet and other database related programs.
• Assessment, distribution management, community mobilization and report writing.
• Good communication skills
D. Languages:
• Fluent in Speaking and writing of national languages.
• Good writing and reading skill of English Language.
E. GENERAL:
Good level of communication skills, conflict resolution and decision making capacities. The position will be required to travel to all project areas and willingness to work in emergency situations under difficult life conditions.
