Job Description

CHILD SAFEGUARDING: (select only one)

Level 3:  the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Project Coordinator, will be the lead person for the project on the ground, will lead ground-level implementation including external coordination with government and non-governmental authorities and other relevant stakeholders. S/he will be directly supervised by the Sponsorship manager for day-to-day managerial support, whose function leads on field-level operational management, access negotiations and supervision of support functions on the ground. 
The Project Coordinator will supervise and manage around 16 project staff (5 direct reports). These positions will be recruited locally, and they will be familiar with local context and people culture

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to:  Sponsorship Program Manager

Budget Responsibilities: Yes (Tracking, monitoring and expenditure of budget)

Job Requirements

Key Accountabilities

  1. Ensure effective communication within Sponsorship-funded program sectors; coordinate with relevant senior staff through regular internal staff meetings regarding the planning of Sponsorship-funded activities.
  2. Manage the implementation of Sponsorship program (Multi-compnent program with core porjects on ECCD, Basic Education, School Health and Nutrition and Adolescence development) in designated province (Sar-e-Pul) based on project logical framework analysis, project cycle management and Sponsorship 3yr strategic plan and SAPs.
  3. Coordinate with local Governmental line departments in the term of project area and ensure project implementation is smooth. Ensure full participation by all stakeholders (Especially children) in project planning, implementation and M&E related activities.
  4. Provide support to project staff for development of required training material to facilitate implementation of capacity building component of the project. 
  5. Provide technical supports on,
    1. Provide leadership in implementing the assigned activities 
    2.  Support the process of developing Sponsorship annual reports, annual plans and monthly Reports.
    3. Support the process of conducting Sponsorship baseline and end line assessments (on literacy boost, numeracy boost, IDELA and any other planned assessments)
    4. Maintain regular contact with MEAL on review the quality monitoring findings and take action plans and responde to FRM calls.
  6. Back stop all administrative & logistics support matters of the project activities – including documentation, approval and actual payment, any other required paper-work, liaison with finance and procurement at provincial.
  7. Report on any problems to the supervisors promptly that encountered in the field and/or in the office such as procurement problems, project participant complaints, local authority interference and security threats to staff and activities.
  8. Participate in the Provincial Government meetings, meeting with school officials, local shuras.
  9. Monitor and evaluate project results according to established targets and indicators.
  10. Identify new opportunities for education (SHN, ECCD, and Primary Education) programming and contribute to program development and improvement.
  11. Work closely with Sponsorship operation/Sponsor servicing team to develop and submit the key deliverables (content packages 1,2,3 and 4, annual self-assessment reports, Annual Family update, Mid-year eligibility check….) to Global Sponsorship team on time
  12. Work closely with Sponsorhsip manager on effective program and budget management, implementation, reporting and re-alignments as and when required to meet donor datelines
  13. Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
