About Organization for Research & Community Development (ORCD )

Organization for Research & Community Development (ORCD) is a Non-governmental, Non-political, Non-profitable and independent organization founded in 2010 by a group of community development and research specialist. The aim of the organization is to contribute to the development of Afghanistan as an integral part of the international community. It envisages accomplishing its aims by building local capacities, generating evidence in various disciplines, promoting evidence-based on best practices and implementing development projects aimed at community development at the grass root level. ORCD is a multi-donor funded NGO, implementing health, agriculture and community development projects in several provinces of the country.
ORCD would like to implement Mobile Health and Nutrition Services (MHNT) Logar province funded by (UNICEF) for which it would like to seek qualified people.

Job Description

  •  program staff and technical experts in line with the project strategic plan;
  • At the direction of the SBC Manager, developing, pre-testing, and producing communication tools and job aids based on evidence-based theories and methodologies, in line with the SBC strategy.
  • Coordinating with research firms, advertising agencies, public relations experts, production vendors, community mobilizers, and/or consultants hired by the project to assist with SBC or community level work.
  • Under supervision of the SBC Manager, coordinating with other stakeholders and assisting with technical activities involving co-existing SBC communications campaigns;
  • Assisting the SBC Manager in supervision of local contracts and monitoring of ongoing function and technical trouble-shooting for integral services, such as mass media programming or religious leader training;
  • Working with the M&E staff and SBC Manager to monitor and evaluate the progress and impact of SBC activities.
  • Assisting in documenting project results and impacts in various forms, including media stories, lessons learned, case studies, client satisfaction, and other areas, and contributing to regular quarterly and annual reporting
  • Performing other duties as directed by the SBC Manager

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must have degree in, BBA, Social science,  Management, or any relevant subject from a recognized university with good academic standing.
  •  High level of demonstrated competency in developing and implementing effective strategies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and local languages
  • Sufficient data analysis and report writing skills.
  • Strong organizational, survey, and oral presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work in a team and intercultural environment, with minimal supervision
  • Enthusiasm for, and commitment to development work
  • Ability to travel nationally for activity monitoring.
  • Facility with Internet and word processing software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Dari and Pashto.
  • Articulate, professional, and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner.
  • Ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team unite
