Background:

The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) is a non-profit, non-governmental humanitarian organization working to assist in the reconstruction of Afghanistan. SCA’s interventions inside Afghanistan began in 1982. Today SCA runs four major development programmers within Disability, Education, Health and Rural Development and is one of the largest NGOs in the country. SCA is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Scope of Work:

SCA in partnership with Shifo foundation made the first move in introducing My Child System in Afghanistan. The system will support child registration, follow up of children, vaccination plan and other preventive health services which are part of preventive child services delivery. My Child card will be provided to children under 5 years of age who receive preventive health services including vaccination, growth and development among others. With my child card electronic health record is created for every registered child thus making it possible to follow up of children individually. The project will be implemented in all health facilities of Laghman province it is a pilot project and planned to implement in 2 province laghman and Wardak and it was started in the year 2016.

“My Child System” officers will support the project core team in planning, implementation and monitoring/evaluation of my child system. He/she will technically support my child system implementation in targeted all HFs of Laghman province.

Main Responsibilities : 

• Act according to the policy and regulations of SCA.
• Keep updated with issues related to SCA and the environment where SCA operates
• Promote an attitude of team spirit and a strong focus on quality
• Develop good co-operation with SCA units, authorities, institutions and other NGOs
• Do related job as delegated by technical manager.
• Analyzing of monthly activity report
• Scanning of monthly vouchers and synchronizing of vouchers on weekly base
• Validation and verification of vouchers on weekly base
• Ensure planned tasks get done on time
• Travel to health facilities to check reports process of health services
• Translate documents from English to Pashto and Dari and vice versa
• Solve any queries from shifo team related to requirement and process of preventive health in Afghanistan
• Holding frequent communication with shifo team in Sweden to clarify any questions related to the project
• Facilitate during organizing project workshop and dissemination activities
• Facilitate during evaluation of My child card (MCC)
•  Giving on the job training to vaccinators, midwives regarding My child card and system
• Printing of monthly indicator reports
• Supplying of MCC and TT cards to relevant health facilities
•  Submitting of monthly indicator reports to health facility staff
• Sharing of any important issues with shifo team related to My child system
• Recording of time for indicator to follow during pilot evaluation for every month
• Checking of daily vouchers for scanning, synchronizing and verification
• Follow of defaulter children that generates by system
• Checking and screening of MCC and TT cards during supply
• Supply management of TT and MCC cards and extra vouchers
• Updating of stock cards for TT & MCC cards and extra vouchers
• Matching of dashboard with delivery sessions form for missed or cancelled sessions
• Some time working in off time as per need of SPT project.
