Job Description

Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements as relating to Organization and Afghanistan Law.

To ensure that internal auditors and External auditor are provided all the requirement in respect to documentations and make sure that the queries of auditors are responded in professional manner.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

 

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

 

  1. Attending audit related meetings including entrance conferences, end of planning meetings, status meetings, and end of field work meetings.
  2. Serve as an agency liaison for all external audits organizing entrance and exit conference ensuring audit scope falls within agencies mission
  3. Review all documents and make sure they are complete and according to SCI policy and procedure before submitting to auditors
  4. Responding to Management letters with complete supporting documents in professional way.
  5. Assisting management in reviewing and responding to draft audit findings, recommendations, and reports.
  6. Assisting management in identifying options for incorporating control and monitoring processes to fully address the audit recommendations and mitigate risks identified.
  7. Serving as a point of contact regarding the overall audit process including the drafting and routing of management’s responses.
  8. Performing oversight procedures on audit recommendations (focusing on those categorized as significant) to verify actions taken are designed and/or working effectively.
  9. Serve as an agency liaison for all external audits organizing entrance and exit conference ensuring audit scope falls within agencies mission
  10. Collaborate with the Finance, Legal and Human Resources departments to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations
  11. Ensure complaints are handled effectively and that effective root cause analysis is carried out and drives required customer journey improvements
  12. Identify trends and taking a proactive approach to sharing knowledge and taking action
  13. Identify compliance issues that require follow-up
  14. Provide support to internal or external auditors in compliance reviews.
  15. Be a member of procurement committee representing finance department
  16. Assist in covering for any other position in Finance team during vacancy, leaves, or high workload.
  17. Perform other Related Responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
  18. Ready to work to respond to any natural disaster or emergency situation anywhere in Afghanistan

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Recommended a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Bachelor / 16 years of education in related field
  • Excellent analytical skills–the ability to analyse complex financial data and design and produce effective management information
  • Excellent experience of reporting
  • Excellent experience of computerised accounts packages, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work to tight deadlines
  • Willingness and ability to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies
  • Understanding of Save the Children’s vision and mission and a commitment to its values
  • Written and verbal fluency in English
