Job Description

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) began working with Afghan refugee communities in Pakistan in 1980, and first started implementing programs inside Afghanistan in 1988. IRC Afghanistan program is working in 9 provinces including Kabul Main Office; IRC Afghanistan is working in Education, National Solidarity Program and Humanitarians Program The IRC and IRC workers must adhere to the values and principles outlined in IRC Way - Standards for Professional Conduct.  These are Integrity, Service, and Accountability.  In accordance with these values, the IRC operates and enforces policies on Beneficiary Protection from Exploitation and Abuse, Child Safeguarding, Anti Workplace Harassment, Fiscal Integrity, and Anti-Retaliation.

Main Purpose of the Job:

The facilitators will conduct parental training and sessions for TLS students’ parents and have regular communication with parents for solving challenges that are related to the Parents.

Job Requirements

  • Attend training organized by the IRC
  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct every day – in TLS
  • Come to the CBE classes every to identify the challenges and communicate with parents
  • Lead activities that are related to parents  
  • Observe children with special needs and ensure they are well integrated into the activities and if needed communicating with related staff and parents
  • Answer questions from community members and parents about what activities are taking place in the TLS classes
  • Attend special information sessions planned for community members and parents
  • Help in setting schedules for daily/weekly activities for parents
  • Conduct parental session for parents
  • Support M&E activities as requested to support quality programming
  • Attend and actively participate in all training sessions organized by the IRC – including taking pre/post-tests as instructed
  • Complete observations or weekly reports as requested by supervisor
  • Remain open to feedback from project staff
