Major Duties and Responsibilities
Specific tasks /responsibilities under livestock/livelihood improvement
Responsible for conducting needs assessment, survey, and focus group discussion regarding livestock requirements.
Support and implement livestock activities (train lead farmers, small holder farmers, community elders) on new and innovative livestock practices.
Responsible for designing livestock activities and training for implementation on village, district, and individual beneficiary level.
Facilitate smooth delivery of veterinary services to the project beneficiaries through civile society groups/communities.
Identify training needs for poultry, ruminant, BVWs beneficiaries inside target communities and organize/conduct such training.
Construct or rehabilitate poultry and livestock-related structures and help small holders’ farmers with fodder production.
Diagnosis, survey, and reporting of livestock diseases outbreaks in the target districts and in case of disease outbreak facilitate the provision of supply of medicine and vaccines through civile society groups.
Support in identification of improved ruminant and poultry breeds and supply of livestock related inputs to the project beneficiaries.
Ensure integration of livestock activities with other NAC sectoral activities
To carry out the role and responsibilities in a way that reflects commitment to NAC Safeguarding Policy.
Provide appropriate and timely feedback, inputs, and suggestion/recommendation to supervisors on relevant stakeholders on matters concerning livestock development and activities.
Coordination with DAIL other Governmental Agencies and NGOs to leverage support of livestock activities.
Any other tasks assigned by regional program coordinator and head of regional office.
Reporting:
Coordinate with line manager for completion of report and confirmation with line department in district and provincial level.
Provide reports from training, workshops, practical sessions, and assessments conducted in communities.
Assist regional program coordinator during the preparation of plans and reports.
Submit technical reports and provide technical assistance to the M&E Unit in the preparation of reports.
Document lesson learn and success story in coordination with M&E staff.
Representing NAC in coordination meetings with government and non-government agencies.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Further duties may be required from the duty holder based on the nature of NAC projects. And this will be assigned based on the direct supervisor.

Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in animal Husbandry/Veterinary.
4 years relevant experience in Animal husbandry/veterinary field.
Work Experience
Four years of experience in livestock projects.
More than four years of demonstrated success in livestock/animal husbandry training.
Excellent experience in coordinating programs at the district level
Complete experience with household surveys
Good experience setting up group discussions to gather information.
Excellent interpersonal skills, promoting collaboration and teamwork.
