Afghan Youth Services Organization (AYSO) is a National Afghan NGO registered in 2006 with the MoEc of Afghanistan with the registration No :397.AYSO since came in to being has develop ,successfully implemented and provided direct assistance services in different   sectors such as health ,educational ,Capacity building ,GBV Prevention and Response ,Peace, Justice Research and Surveys human rights and awareness projects and programs with the technical and financial support of several UN Agencies such as UNDP ,UNICEF,WFP and WHO,AYSO has implemented projects with government ministries and departments as well as has been being implementing partner with AAH/USAID ,FHI,BARC,AADA,HEWAD and other National and International Organization

 

Job Description

  1. Provide psycho-social support (PSS) and psychological first aid (PFA) to survivors who have experienced war trauma torture, gender based violence (GBV) survivors and when necessary to survivors of natural disasters.
  2. Provide screening and assessment on psychological trauma.
  3. Perform community and clients awareness on, GBV prevention, trauma ,available psychosocial support, Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) and Separated/unaccompanied Children
  4. Conduct Individual and group counselling.
  5. Ensure GBV health protocol response for GBV survivors and other victims.
  6. Refer trauma patients and GBV survivors when needed to more specialized services.
  7. Promote MHPSS and GBV awareness though Conducting orientation for Community influential figures to mobilize them.
  8. Conduct recreational activities like drawing and positive story telling for clients in MHTs.
  9. Facilitate GBV survivor’s appointment with the medical doctor and refer them to FPC and other specialized service providers depending on need.
  10. Identification and registration of GBV cases to provide safe and confidential referrals and provide regular reports.
  11. Work closely with the FPC, Child friendly spaces, women safe space staff and Child Protection Action Networks (CPANs), Social Workers, extenders and other service providers for implementation of standard referral protocol for GBV victims, separated children and other cases of child abuse and violence
  12. Conduct a regular, follow up of the cases according to the agreed case plan.Apply the “Do no harm and survival-centred approaches” principal in all aspects of work, especially to protect GBV survivors from further harm.
  13. Attend all relevant meetings requested by supervisor relevant to the project goals.
  14. Assist in other duties in the outreach team, WFHS and FPC, requested by supervisor
  15. Attend all PSS/PFA and other related trainings per requirement
  16. Register and keep records of all clients receiving counselling services, and share those only with permitted personnel through secure channels.
  17. Fill/submit monthly statistic form and reports (including number of case and services by location) to MHT Team Leader and make sure that the reports reach to project coordinator.
  18. Coordinate PSS, Case management, EORE, GBV and separated children and unaccompanied minors activities with CP team in ZOs and ACO.
  19. Provide training for health frontline service providers on safe and confidential referrals.
 

Job Requirements

  • Graduated from a known health institute such as nurse or midwife  
  • At least one year of experience in this field
