HealthNet TPO offers ground-breaking and unconventional solutions that foster self-reliance and promote sustainable health care that is accessible to all.   HealthNet TPO in Afghanistan aims to improve the health status of the people in Afghanistan by supporting the local communities and the Government of Afghanistan in the development of a sustainable health care system.  HealthNet TPO is working in Afghanistan since 1994, implementing integrated health projects managed mainly by national staff and supported technically by expatriate staff from the headquarter office. HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. Health Net TPO is currently implementing projects in 22 provinces and the major program it implements are Malaria Control program, BPHS/EPHS, C-IMCI , CME, CHNE, public private partnership, nutrition and Mental Health and Psychosocial program through a community system strengthening approach. 

Job Description

  • Development of Psychosocial outreach plan, session reports and maintenance of individual and group counseling’s sessions within the community.
  • Provides Psychosocial individual and group counseling according to standard psychosocial counselling guidelines for community people and advocate for PSS referral pathway.
  • Establishes and maintains good working relation concerned stakeholders for referral pathways.
  • PSS case identification and advocacy for referral pathway.
  • Maintain a proper records of PSC interventions which will be implemented at community based level.
  • Maintains respectful and professional attitude towards communities.
  • Peace building and conflict management.
  • Inform the target communities about the available PSS services in their geographical area.
  • Work with community leaders to conduct PSS sensitization awareness sessions.
  • Promote the community engagement for prevention of Violence.
  • Conduct regular campaigns and implementing relevant interventions and using IEC materials on PSS.
  • Team building and enhance the group work between the outreach team.

 

Reporting and coordination tasks

 

  • Prepare the service delivery points visiting plans according to targeted geographical areas.  Make sure planning is communicated and coordinated with community stakeholders.
  • Keep the record and filing of community based PSC interventions.  
  • Make sure community attestation is obtained and signed by community leaders.
  • Assist the project manager to facilitate the community based interventions.
  • Reporting and data collection on weekly, monthly and quarterly base.  

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor in social science (university graduate, in psychology, counseling or any certified psychosocial counselor by MOPH or at least graduated from Midwifery.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the field of training or community mobilization, honest and committed to work. 
  • Having 2 years work experience
  • Having work experience in the field of GBV
