About Organization of Human Welfare (OHW):

The Organization of Human Welfare (OHW) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) and is non-political, not-for-profit, and impartial organization with no bias towards a particular religion, ethnicity, or political belief. It has its own independent legal status and entity. OHW is registered with the Ministry of Economy in Kabul, Afghanistan (Registration No: 1014) and is a member of South West Afghanistan and Baluchistan Agency for Coordination (SWABAC), the coordinating body for NGOs in southern Afghanistan. The Managing Director of OHW also formally represents SWABAC in coordination meetings at the national level.

Job Description

The purpose of the Project Officer is to work closely with other project team members to support and implement the effective implementation, monitoring, evaluation, follow up and learning activities under the line management of Program Manager to ensure the quality implementation align with OHW policies, procedures and donor requirements.

The Project Officer will ensure that the program and activities adhere to the agreed project implementation standards, manuals and donor reporting standards. This will include effective management of the staff, ensure quality implementation, Reporting based on the donor requirements and data collection tools design, data collection and analysis and reporting. The post holder will assist project staff in the use and adaption of various M&E tools and processes and will be active in identifying learning opportunities from the projects and program work that demonstrate impact, outcomes and important learning opportunities including case studies, publications and success stories.

The prime responsibilities of Project Officer is to ensure the accountability and transparency of projects through various methodologies and tools considerations.

This is a challenging role and the position holder has to ensure that the OHW Country Programmes get competent, effective and efficient technical support for smooth implementation and quality delivery of programmes.

 

Job Requirements

To demonstrate high-level performance management and leadership skills, with substantial experience of managing large teams.
At least Bachelor degree in business development and agribusiness marketing and Rural Development Programs.  
At least 7 years of similar position in food security and livelihood Program development and implementation
Good conceptual thinking skills and an ability to develop diverse and innovative solutions to problems.
Good understanding of project planning and management cycles and experience of developing quality project report and other documents.
Good team building and communication skills.
Experienced in staff development and capacity building.
Experienced in partnership management.
Experienced in working in fragile contexts.
A very good team leader as well as team player and contribute to positive working team environment for effective project delivery
Very good self-management competencies.
Ability to communicate appropriately via English, Pashto and Dari
