Job Description

  • Train the provincial Master trainers and provide ongoing support in the community mobilization approaches training and documentation of activities.
  • Arrange and conduct new or refresher trainings for the education staff as necessary.
  • Perform regular field visits (50%) to the provincial offices and randomly selected communities to ensure quality community participation.
  • Ensure that the project classes are established and maintained according to the MoE CBE policy and there is a sound plan for handing over to MoE at the end of the project.
  • Ensure and monitor the CBE classes regarding gender sensitive pedagogy are in place.
  • Maintain regular contact with the PED and EiE WG for issues related to the CBE and community participation.
  • Ensure the fidelity of delivery of technical trainings through support to Provincial Master Trainers, Community Mobilizers and Officers
  • Guide the Provincial Master Trainers, Community Mobilizers in building the capacity and cooperating with the MoE, PED and DED.
  • Work with the Senior Technical Manager to identify and strengthen areas of mutual enforcement to achieve greater learning outcomes and quality learning environment.
  • Promote the achievement of INEE minimum standards especially in teaching.
  • Oversee the implementation and quality of CBE, ALP, and remedial classes at provincial level and provide support to field team.
  • Ensure compliance with Child Safeguarding and Referral Mechanisms established in field locations
  • Oversee the quality of TLC implementing in field level and provide support of field team.
  • Ensure overall fidelity of implementation and program quality around key result areas for ECW, including Early Grade Reading, Inclusion, Safety, WASH and Child Safeguarding
  • Develop Training reports and share with Training Manager.  

Coordination

  • Provide technical support to the education team in meeting the ECW project deliverables
  • Coordinate with the Technical Training Manager in supporting the fidelity of teacher training delivery.
  • Coordinate with the other education team for matters of teacher training.
  • Attend forums and meetings of the project and the CBE/EiE WG meetings overall in Helmand, Kandahar, and Kabul.
  • Coordinate directly with both EiE and Child Protection groups to ensure integration in project deliverables
  • Attend and participate in trainings identified/organized by your supervisor
  • Abide by IRC personnel policies and regulations; follow any new procedures and guidelines introduced in circulars from Country Office
  • Report any violations of the IRC Mandatory Reporting Policy. The reporting of violations is an obligation on the part of all staff members. Assist where necessary in undertaking activities that aim to prevent the occurrence of sexual abuse and exploitation of beneficiaries by IRC and other humanitarian workers.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Master is preferred
  • Five years of professional working experience in a relevant field
  • Proven experience in Personnel Management
  • Excellent English and Dari/Pashtu
  • Must have computer skills.
  • Experience in working with international NGOs
  • Good organizational, diplomatic and reporting skills
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent cross-cultural skills; prior experience working in a multi-cultural environment is an added advantage.
