About Organization of Human Welfare (OHW):

The Organization of Human Welfare (OHW) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) and is non-political, not-for-profit, and impartial organization with no bias towards a particular religion, ethnicity, or political belief. It has its own independent legal status and entity. OHW is registered with the Ministry of Economy in Kabul, Afghanistan (Registration No: 1014) and is a member of South West Afghanistan and Baluchistan Agency for Coordination (SWABAC), the coordinating body for NGOs in southern Afghanistan. The Managing Director of OHW also formally represents SWABAC in coordination meetings at the national level.

Job Description

The provincial coordinator will work closely with  programme manager and will be responsible to implement and coordinate all project activities. S/he will oversee the coordination, administration and implementation of all aspects of the ongoing project including planning, organizing, staffing, leading, reporting, training, meetings and writing advocacy briefs.

Duties and Responsibilities
S/he will be responsible to:
The incumbent shall work under the overall steer and supervision of the Provincial Program Coordinator and the Program Manager in Kabul to lead, manage, supervise and oversee the overall implementation of project in Takhar.
Plan the delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization and as per the approved annual plan by the project donor in the field.
Communicate with clients and other stakeholders to gain community support for the program and to solicit input to improve the program
Liaise with other managers to ensure the effective and efficient program delivery Ensure that the program operate within the approved budget
Coordinate the delivery of services among different program activities to increase effectiveness and efficiency Write reports on the program for management
Represent the organization in funding committee and communicate with funders as outlined in funding agreements
Provide legal expertise and guidance to OHW and its partners on Afghan law and International Refugee Law procedures;
Design, prepare, and review child protection and legal training material for legal coordinator and child coordinator and beneficiaries. Training curriculum may include role plays, simulations, case studies and other practical skills, and pre and post-testing
Conduct and evaluate needs assessment for the training programs;
Train OHW legal coordinators, Child protection coordinator, trainers, project staff and project beneficiaries.
Ensure that the flow of information to and from OHW is relevant to the aid community and accommodate for changes in the environment.
Liaise with other civil society organizations and coordinate with sister organizations on particular advocacy matters.
Moderate Advocacy Committees Meetings and events
Assist in convening Advocacy events e.g. press conferences and seminars.
Organizing the training to government department with the coordination senior management
Participate in meetings and events invited by donors, government and other stakeholders.
Ensure adequate communication with all local Partners in relation to IDPs and Returnees as well as their training and capacity development.
Translate texts and presentations from National languages (Dari and Pashto) into English and vice versa
Editing and translating training and campaign materials In consultation with the Senior Management Team, recruit, interview and select well qualified program staff as per project need.
Monitor progress of training and public awareness workshops conducted by Legal Coordinators , child protection coordinator and Trainers
Ensure all staff members receive orientation and appropriate training in accordance with organizational standards
Contribute to designing and revising OHW strategy and work plan to be based on changing needs, priorities, and projects effectiveness and feasibility.
Provide required information to have invoices generated and submitted to funders according to the established timelines with consultancy of management team
Identify and evaluate the risks associated with program activities and take appropriate action to control the risks
Respect the Afghan culture, keeping events and themes tuned and balanced in all program activities.
Report evaluation findings to the Programme Manager and recommend changes to enhance the program, as appropriate

 

Job Requirements

Graduate degree in BBA or any other related fields
5 Years of work experience in project management with a specific 3 years in Humanitarian contexts
Preview experience with UN funded projects and programs are advantage
Demonstrated experience in developing and managing projects.
Proven skills in public awareness raising, outreach, trainings and advocacy events.
Experience in working with civil society related issues.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills including diplomacy, tact, and the ability to negotiate and influence.
Ability to think strategically and to act in the best interests of OHW as a whole.
Excellent communication skills: speaking, writing, and listening.
Fluency in Pashto, Dari and English.
Good computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, Internet.
Strong sense of adaptability and ability to efficiently work and live in a stressed and unstable environment.
Ability to collaboratively work in a team environment.
Professionalism and kindness in appearance and demeanor.
