About Afghan Family Guidance Association |AFGA

Afghan Family Guidance Association (AFGA) is an Afghan non-governmental, not-for-profit and non-political organization established in 1968. AFGA has been working in the field of Reproductive health and Rights since its inception and has recently become an associate member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).

AFGA activities were suspended due to war and conflict in the country for ten years (1992-2002) and resumed its activities in 2002 with financial support from International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).

IPPF is an alliance of 151 family planning associations known as Member Associations which has projects in over 180 countries. IPPF continues to be the largest civil society provider of reproductive health information and services in the world.

Job Description

Job Summary:

AFGA seeks project provincial supervisor with the previous background of working for health-related project as leading & supervisory roles. The health project provincial supervisor will be working under supervision of program manager and will be presenting AFGA in the project located province (Samangan). The project provincial supervisor will be responsible for leading and managing the smooth implementation of the project in related provinces.

AFGA seeks for humanitarian medical and non-medical warehouse officer with previous working background of working for warehouse and supply chain management roles. The humanitarian

Project management:

  • The provincial Supervisor should oversee the overall implementation of the relevant project activities in all target areas/communities.
  • The provincial supervisor is responsible to supervise the project activities including medicine supply, RMNCAH and mental health activities at provincial level.
  • The provincial supervisor should oversee the integration of RMNCAH and psychosocial support in primary health cares along with other health related issues based on coverage area (COVID-19, immunization, etc.).
  • The provincial supervisor is responsible to ensure effective utilization of resources allocated to the related activities/interventions.
  • The project provincial supervisor shall conduct regular field visits to ensure the accurate implementation of the project on community level.
  • The project provincial supervisor will track the targets achievement for static health services provision centers and, address all the gaps and preparation of action plans for project activities considering MoPH and project donor’s standard guidelines.
  • Provincial supervisor will take care of administrative duties in the project office and liaises on these with concerned departments.
  • Develop and submit the required reports of the project in close coordination of AFGA HMIS team to the related provincial HMIS department.

Coordination:

  • The project provincial supervisor will represent AFGA in all health services related meeting and coordination platforms particularly PMDC, RMNCAH and other meetings on provincial level.
  • The project provincial supervisor will attend the humanitarian coordination meetings in regional level to ensure the visibility and presence of AFGA and project donor on regional and provincial level.
  • The project provincial supervisor will attend all the internal meetings to ensure the presentation of AFGA Samangan sub-office.

Financial management:

  • Providing support in the project budget plan development internally.
  • Regular tracking of allocated budget expenditure to avoid any under and overspent of the budget.
  • Checking all financial request, financial documents and financial reports to ensure the validation and existence of supporting documents as per AFGA policy and project donor requirement.

Job Requirements

  • Graduated of well-known medical university with completion of MoPH exit exam (if applicable).
  • The priority will be given to candidates with previous experience with managing health project on provincial level.
  • 5 years Proven experience working with health-related project as supervisor particularly the experience of working for BPHS and RMNCAH project.
  • Strong communication and supervision skills and knowledge.
  • Ability of conflict management and problem solving on team level.
  • Ability of working in MS office package for developing different documents (plan, reports, graphs).
  • Strong English ability on written.
  • Being able to travel to project sites on community level.
  • Strong ability of project stockholders’ analysis.
  • Ability of conducting supervision of the project activities.
  • Ability of developing project budget plans considering the project needs and budget availability.
  • Working for humanitarian assistance projects is plus point and priority will be given to local candidates.
