About Future Generations Afghanistan

Future Generations (FG) is the collective name for an international network of non-governmental organizations including FG Country Programs in Asia and Africa, Future Generations University (FGU) and its alumni in 17 countries, academia, and individual’s experts. The original charitable organization, Future Generations, was established in 1992 for the purpose of learning from, and building upon the world’s most successful examples of community empowerment and social change. It is complemented by the Future Generations Graduate School (Future Generations University) in 2006 in the State of West Virginia with authorization to provide a Master's Degree in Applied Community Change focus on Conservation and Peace building.  The Future Generations Afghanistan (FGA) established in May 2002 and obtained its registration certificate from Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan in October 2005.  Since 2007, FGA has been operational in Eastern Afghanistan, and successfully completed development and humanitarian programs in Nangarhar, Laghman , Kunar,Nuristan,Logar, Herat and Bamyan Provinces.

Job Description

Main responsibilities will be to implement the planned activities, preparing the data and information for project progress reports, helping project manager, establishing effective coordination with project right-holders, collecting data from the field staff, tracking data into the project database and arranging meetings with project key staff.

Job Requirements

  • Responsible for input and output monitoring in the project. S/he has to document the processes adopted in the project implementation, emerging best practices, success stories, human interest stories during implementation of the project.
  • Submit quality MIS reports, monthly progress reports and process reports regularly to the Project Manager.
  • Critically analyze the project components and ensure the compatibility of the Project and their structures to local requirements
  • Preparation of monthly and periodic MIS and submit the same to the Project Manager
  • Under direct supervision of the project manager is responsible for relationships, liaising, and reporting to donors for program support and services issues in a close coordination and cooperation with administrative and finance department
  • Ensure that monitoring and information management tools are up to date and contain all relevant information
  • Provide timely feedback on the project progress and shortcomings to the Project Manager/ Project Coordinator.
  • Develop strategies in identification and coverage of all vulnerable and poorest households
  • Ensure project activities are in compliance with Government of Afghanistan’s rules and regulations
  • Effectively communicate with project staff to ensure staff understands their roles and responsibilities, and is able to successfully perform their duties.
  • Establish linkages with line departments, NGOs and relevant institutions at village and district level
  • Oversee implementation of project activities and ensure that project targets and grant objectives are met
  • Ensure that organizational security measures and directives are integrated into project
  • Facilitate documentation of achievements, lessons learned and best practice
  • Provide training to project site staff on project regarding
  • Support Project Manager in developing Work Plan and Financial Plan on quarterly basis.

Qualification:

  •         Good communication (spoken and written) skills English, Pashto (Dari will be an asset),
  •         Ability to explain and present program related information/requirements.
  •         Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people
