Overview of position

Treatment of severe acute malnutrition (SAM) is one of the key components of PND activities serviced through BPHS NGOS. It is primarily implemented in the emergency affected provinces where the prevalence of SAM is high. The services will be expanded as part of emergency response once there is emergency induced SAM cases. Therapeutic nutrition supplies (e.g F-75, F-100 and RUTF) are core elements of the services. PND manage the overall supply chain including forecasting, requesting, distributing, and collecting the reports on a quarterly basis.

Purpose of the post:

The main objective of this assignment is to support PND to manage quality IMAM services delivery as inpatient care and outpatient care. Also, to manage the therapeutic supply and minimize the nutrition supply stock outs through improved nutrition supply management system. The technical assistance will also be responsible for emergency related activities in PND including coordinating with Nutrition cluster. 

Job Description

  • In collaboration and close supervision of Senior Project Assistant (Field Coordinator) (FC) Conduct assessments of relevant and affected population and displaced families using different assessment. tool including KOBO and encode all the relevant forms into ESNFI Database.
  • In coordination with supervisor (FC), assist in organizing meetings, taking minutes, developing reports on natural disaster Incidents, progress report, assist FC in writing. weekly reports and situation reports on disaster incidents.
  • Coordinate assessment and response of emergency assistance to target beneficiaries in at provincial, district and community level, conduct assessment with partners for verification and identification of beneficiaries.
  • Carry out assessment and distribution of emergency Aid and ensure all ESNFI procedures are followed during these processes in-line with standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure the assessment forms (MSRAF, FAF and BDS) are encoded in ESNFI DB and all procedures are followed while responding to natural disaster events.
  • In coordination with supervisor oversee and monitor distribution of humanitarian assistance and provide written reports with details of distribution process and any associated issues.
  • In coordination with supervisor assist national and provincial government authorities in handling emergency situations; ensure appropriate mechanisms to facilitate collaboration. and exchange of information both in and outside the IOM system, taking part in joint assessments and ensuring the assessments are conducted as per ESNFI mandate.
  • Assist FC in carrying ESNFI cluster related activities and ensure closed coordination with ESNFI partner in the region/province to ensure IOM role as ESNFI cluster co-chair. with partners, evaluating the impact of the project.
  • Assist in developing contingency planning for region and provinces to ensure preparedness to any emergency event.
  • Actively engagement with access working group to ensure all field activities are Coordinated.
  • In coordination with supervisor, monitor, analyse and report on emergency response, disaster relief/management activities or emergency situations; develop and maintain a “watch list” of areas with potential for humanitarian crisis and report this information Accordingly.
  • Support DRR teams in implementation of disaster risk mitigation infrastructure (DRMI) and Community Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) activities.
  • Monitor, analyse and report on emergency response, disaster relief/management activities or emergency situations; develop and maintain a “watch list” of areas with potential for humanitarian crisis, hard to reach and report this information accordingly.
  • Assist project team in coordination of disaster risk mitigation infrastructure and community-based disaster risk management activities with relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in warehouse management and stock recording and organize kits in warehouse as per standard and in coordination with logistics focal point. Release kits after proper paperwork is done and in accordance to approved stock card.
  • In coordination with HoSO and field coordinator present IOM ESNFI activities in relevant
  • coordination forum (OCT, PDMC, HAG, etc) including Government/UN/INGO including ES/NFI cluster meetings.
  • Encourage and train other partners to use RAF form during the assessment and ensure all RAFs forms have been collected from relevant partners and encoded them into the system.
  • Building and keeping close contact with line departments, CDCs, community representative and other local channels to ensure on time reporting of any natural or man-made disaster incidents happened being reported to IOM.
  • 19: Take part in the cash distribution to the labors of DRMI projects and ensure documents of payment have been submitted on timely manner.
  • be available for immediate needs for assessment and emergency response when required.
  • Ensure participation of different groups of community people (Women, children, elderly people, widows, disable) in the assessment and emergency response activities.
  • Provide ESNFI weekly and monthly report.

Job Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with one years of relevant professional experience.

High School; Diploma / other certificate in Business administration, disaster management.

Experience

Three years of working experience are for high school graduates and One-year experience are for bachelor’s degree holders.

Required, experience in humanitarian emergency response such as data collection via Kobo tools, aid delivery to affected populations in humanitarian emergency response sector.

Projects; Experience in the usage of office software packages (MS Word, Excel, Kobo,

etc.) usage of database and different assessment forms and knowledge of

Spreadsheet and data analysis an added advantage

SKILLS

In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization; and,

Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.

Knowledge of financial rules and regulations.

Knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).

Knowledge in MS Office, data collection tools, kobo and M&E tools.

English language skills (reading, writing and speaking) is required.

Languages
