HealthNet TPO offers ground-breaking and unconventional solutions that foster self-reliance and promote sustainable health care that is accessible to all.   HealthNet TPO in Afghanistan aims to improve the health status of the people in Afghanistan by supporting the local communities and the Government of Afghanistan in the development of a sustainable health care system.  HealthNet TPO is working in Afghanistan since 1994, implementing integrated health projects managed mainly by national staff and supported technically by expatriate staff from the headquarter office. HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. Health Net TPO is currently implementing projects in 22 provinces and the major program it implements are Malaria Control program, BPHS/EPHS, C-IMCI , CME, CHNE, public private partnership, nutrition and Mental Health and Psychosocial program through a community system strengthening approach. 

Job Description

  1. Management of complicated cases.
  2. Prescribe and ensure appropriate drugs and medical treatment.
  3. Perform major surgery for selective and emergency cases (C.section, Hysterectomy, tubectomy, ovarian cystectomy etc).
  4. Follow up of pre operative and post operative cases.
  5. On job training of joiner doctors and midwives.
  6. Supervision of nursing staff and joiner doctors.
  7. Health education to the women regarding to their problems.
  8. Provide ANC/PNC to high-risk mothers.
  9. Perform normal delivery and breech extraction if there is any difficulty.
  10. Accountable to the patient and have a friendly behavior with the patient.
  11. Work within hospital’s rules and regulations.
  12. Implement induced/augmented labor if needed.
  13.  Participate in training and meeting as needed.
  14. Perform related administrative duties and ensure patient’s documentations are completed.    
  15. Perform other duties directed by the supervisor and line manager.  
  16. Ensure that all procedures related to the infection prevention are followed correctly.  
  17. Carry out ultra sound examinations as needed.   

Job Requirements

  • Degree of MD and specialization in Gyn/Obs  approved by MoPH.
  • Working experience as specialist of 1-3 years in hospital.
  • Good English language skills. Computer skills are preferable.
  • Flexible mentality
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
