About Organization for Research & Community Development (ORCD )

Organization for Research & Community Development (ORCD) is a Non-governmental, Non-political, Non-profitable and independent organization founded in 2010 by a group of community development and research specialist. The aim of the organization is to contribute to the development of Afghanistan as an integral part of the international community. It envisages accomplishing its aims by building local capacities, generating evidence in various disciplines, promoting evidence-based on best practices and implementing development projects aimed at community development at the grass root level. ORCD is a multi-donor funded NGO, implementing health, agriculture and community development projects in several provinces of the country.
ORCD would like to implement Mobile Health and Nutrition Services (MHNT) Logar province funded by (UNICEF) for which it would like to seek qualified people.

Job Description

Act according to the policy of ORCD;
She Conduct anthropometric measurement (weight, height and age), MUAC and check edema of all under five children.
She will have Classification of all under five children in categories of well nourished, Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) and Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM).
Conduct growth monitoring of all under two years’ children and registering them.
Provide the absent and default list for the proper follow up and shared with MHNT.
Referring the acutely malnourished children to MHNT in-charge for the treatment.
Follow up of detected cases in the next visit from the same site.
She Conduct counseling for pregnant and lactating women and mothers of all under two years children on appropriate infant and young child feeding (IYCF) practices in each site.
Counselling and referring the SAM, MAM children and acutely malnourished PLWs to the relevant sites
She Conduct regular nutrition education at each site.
Counselling the caregivers on the hygiene promotion practices as needed.
Referring mothers with malnourished children to psychosocial support.
Reporting all Nutrition counseling activities done at the MHNT level.including education sessions conducted.
She is responsible for providing all his activities reports and information to his line supervisor.
Keep confidential with issue related to ORCD.

Any task given by the Provincial Project Manager.

Job Requirements

Be Afghan.
Graduated from 12 class.
At least one-year experience in the provision of Nutrition counselling services. Experience with IDPs will be a plus point.
Ability to maintain professionalism in services delivery and ethics.
Fluency in spoken and written Dari and Pashtu is a requirement. English Language skills is a plus point.
Able to go to the field.
