About Future Generations Afghanistan

Future Generations (FG) is the collective name for an international network of non-governmental organizations including FG Country Programs in Asia and Africa, Future Generations University (FGU) and its alumni in 17 countries, academia, and individual’s experts. The original charitable organization, Future Generations, was established in 1992 for the purpose of learning from, and building upon the world’s most successful examples of community empowerment and social change. It is complemented by the Future Generations Graduate School (Future Generations University) in 2006 in the State of West Virginia with authorization to provide a Master's Degree in Applied Community Change focus on Conservation and Peace building.  The Future Generations Afghanistan (FGA) established in May 2002 and obtained its registration certificate from Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan in October 2005.  Since 2007, FGA has been operational in Eastern Afghanistan, and successfully completed development and humanitarian programs in Nangarhar, Laghman , Kunar,Nuristan,Logar, Herat and Bamyan Provinces.

Job Description

carrying out establishing the survey tools, administering the compound vulnerability scoring exercise to identify beneficiaries, beneficiary verification, spot-checks on distribution, design and establishment of survey, administering data and preparing final  report

 

Job Requirements

  • Ensure that the data on the received formats/tools is complete and clear and make sure that incomplete data/form is brought into the attention of the M&E Manager
  • Before the data entry, review the data on the received formats/tools for consistency
  • Ensure that no duplicate data is entered into the database
  • Ensure that all the received complete and accurate data is entered into the system
  • Make queries (for a specific period i.e. biweekly, quarterly etc.) of the entered data and cross-check it with the data on hard copy
  • Review and fix the discrepancy/inconsistency between the soft and hard data, if exists
  • Work smart and hard to manage the MIS related workload timely and quality manner. It means correct data entry, data accuracy and checking in MIS database. 
  • Perform regular back up and restoring of MIS data forms for record and future use, editing and re-correction of data and database as per the donor requirements and changes.
  • Analyze data, prepare various bar charts and tabulated figures from MIS database for donor reporting and program management purposes. 
  • Keep track record of errors and mistake and provide instruction for communication with field staff for correction and completion of incomplete documents
  • Report the "data entry" status on weekly basis and as per request
  • Reply to data call emails in absence of database specialist and Data Verification Officer and make database backup.
  • Secures information by completing data base backups.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Extract data from SQL database and use data analysis tools like pivot table and cross tabs.
  • Sort, manage, label, archive and organize hard copy file system, according to indicators PDM list.
  • Regularly check and update the site workers attendance.
  • Regularly check the items in and out of stock.
  • MIS Officer may provide technical training and support to other team members who may provide support to MIS activities
  • Plan activities on weekly, monthly and quarterly base and submit it to supervisor in a regular manner

Qualification:

Good level of proficiency in Windows Excel and quantitative analysis

Demonstrated ability to train and build capacity of others

Fluent in written and spoken English, Dari and Pashto languages
