About Future Generations Afghanistan

Future Generations (FG) is the collective name for an international network of non-governmental organizations including FG Country Programs in Asia and Africa, Future Generations University (FGU) and its alumni in 17 countries, academia, and individual’s experts. The original charitable organization, Future Generations, was established in 1992 for the purpose of learning from, and building upon the world’s most successful examples of community empowerment and social change. It is complemented by the Future Generations Graduate School (Future Generations University) in 2006 in the State of West Virginia with authorization to provide a Master's Degree in Applied Community Change focus on Conservation and Peace building.  The Future Generations Afghanistan (FGA) established in May 2002 and obtained its registration certificate from Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan in October 2005.  Since 2007, FGA has been operational in Eastern Afghanistan, and successfully completed development and humanitarian programs in Nangarhar, Laghman , Kunar,Nuristan,Logar, Herat and Bamyan Provinces.

Job Description

She will regularly have site visits in all target sites, and periodically monitor progress against agreed indicators. He/she will have a good understanding of M&E best practices in data collection, including focus group discussions, household surveys, and field observation

Job Requirements

Field level monitoring:

  • Provide technical support to Programme officer to develop monthly work plan for social mobilizers.
  • Provide technical support to Programme officer to develop cascade training plan.
  • Development of pre-test and post-test questionnaire for the cascade training and TOT.
  • Compilation of the results of pre-test and post-test of cascade training and TOT.
  • Conduct visits and monitor training sessions, produce and share monitoring reports to address the findings.
  • Conduct field visits, monitor CE sessions, produce and share monitoring reports to address the findings.
  • Provide hands on coaching to social mobilizers according to the findings and gaps were identified during monitoring visits.
  • Integrated Monitoring, Evaluation & Research Planning (IMEP) is prepared and in place to provide strategic priority and realistic activities plans for social and behavior change interventions.
  • Timely monitoring and measurement of changes in conditions due to programs or policies, planning and assess the impact of the programs and policies, and report on the progress being made.
  • Performance of social and behavior change interventions, campaigns and activities are systematically monitored, and data for key indicators are collected, analyzed and made available to management and the Country Management Team.
  • Effective mechanisms to ensure accountability to the affected population are established and managed.
  • The research, monitoring and evaluation capacities of the Social and Behavior Change section are strengthened.
  • Support and contribute to effectively joint evaluations with developmental and emergency response, including joint evaluation of UNICEF or multi-partner programs.
  • In coordination with other stakeholders, support the collection of reliable and evidence-based data on social norms and behavioral insights of relevant audiences to improve integrated national and CO planning and emergency response.
  • Close Monitoring of community and project related activities.
  • Assist Programme officer in capacity building of the social and technical staff in the week areas.
  • Preparing the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual M&E action plan and assure its implementation.
  • Any other activity assigned by Regional Director and line manager.

Qualification:

  • Good level of proficiency in Windows Excel and quantitative analysis.
  • Experience in program design and M&E plan development.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and build capacity of others.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, Dari and Pashto languages.
