Job Description

The M&E and Research Officer will be overall responsible for the research, monitoring, and evaluation of the project, ensuring quality data collection and analysis for the assessment, and information management system.

The proposed project aims to create a multi-stakeholder grievance-handling platform with local, national, and international stakeholders’ representatives, local leaders, religious leaders, CSOs, women, and youths in target locations to bring accessible, predictable, equitable, transparent response to grievances.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Support and work closely with the project manager to take responsibility for the overall monitoring and evaluation of the project including assessments
  2. Manage research activities and ensure outcomes and lessons learned are integrated into the project and shared with relevant stakeholders
  3. Assist the project manager with the development of the M&E plan for the project, including indicator selection, target setting, reporting, database management, and developing M&E and/or performance monitoring plans
  4. Responsible for the data collection, storage, analysis, and reporting, ensuring the data is of high quality and audit worthy
  5. Responsible for supporting the preparation and review of project reports in collaboration with the project team
  6. Monitor all project activities and progress towards achieving the project output
  7. Monitor and evaluate overall progress on achievement of results
  8. Monitor the sustainability of the project's results
  9. Conduct field visits of the project activities based on the monthly plan in collaboration with the project manager
  10. Perform any other task assigned by the project manager
 

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's is preferred
  • Minimum three years of M&E experience, knowledge, and experience of M&E tools, methodologies, and approaches
  • General experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis is required
  • Demonstrated expertise in statistical analysis software (Stata; SPSS; SAS)
  • Good English writing and speaking knowledge, strong computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office package
  • Fluency in the two main Afghan languages, Pashto & Dari (writing, speaking, and comprehension)
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders
  • Effective communication and writing skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member
