About Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA)

SCA Background

The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) has been working in Afghanistan since 1982, presently managing development Programs concerning Health, Education, Rural Livelihoods and Community Governance, with a total annual budget of roughly USD 40 million. The total number of staff is slightly over 7,386.During the last 10 years SCA has undertaken a change process moving from a primarily humanitarian service delivery approach towards more of a developmental role, putting increasing emphasis on capacity development, rights-based programming, and outcome orientation. The mission of SCA is to empower individuals, communities, and local organizations, primarily in rural areas and with particular focus on women, girls, boys and vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, so that they may participate fully in society and influence their own development. Job Description

  • Capacity Development:   conduct awareness sessions on gender issue to the communities members and partners organization members.
  • Networking and advocacy:  Maintain linkages to gender related networks within civil society and another stakeholder organization in the field and participate in SCA’s advocacy efforts at regional level while strengthening SCA-supported national advocacy efforts. in HRGU internal gender and human rights coordination meetings at Kabul level.
  • Monitoring and data collection: a monitor gender progress and gaps on regular basis within the programmes and proactively seek to guide and support programmes in addressing gaps and challenges.
  •  Planning & Reporting: Participate in developing applications, plans, survey, assessments, budget, and report on RMO level and provide monthly report to CDMU Manager with cc to HRGU on regular basis.
  • Other relevant tasks: Maintain a proper filing system in and Perform other duties within competence as assigned by the Unit Manger.

The post holder is expected to show full commitment to develop and maintain adequate and fully functional tools/methods for Human Rights and Gender integration on GRMO level with technical support from HRGU in KMO.
 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree Prefer in gender studies, law, human rights, Sharia,   
  • 1-2 years of experience in gender & capacity development training, gender, and advocacy in an international or national NGO or similar organization.  Demonstrated experience in human rights and gender integration in programme planning, implementation and monitoring and evaluation
