NCA have 21 country offices across Africa, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East, including four joint country offices and other partner organisations. Our mandate is to save lives and seek justice. We do this by working with long-term development programmes, humanitarian interventions and advocacy toward decision-makers to address the root causes of injustice, poverty and power imbalance. Our work is undertaken closely with local civil society partners and other NGOs. NCA Afghanistan is currently working on Climate Resilient WASH, Climate Smart Economic Empowerment, Humanitarian Response, Learning and Social Development, Integrated Community Resilience Action (ICRA) project and Civil Society capacity building.

Job Description

List the main tasks and responsibilities for this position (supervisory responsibilities, etc.):

An Experienced HR Coordinator, you will be able to:

  • Provide guidance to SMT on HR related issues within NCA Afghanistan.
  • Ensure compliance in all HR processes with the NCA operations manual, Afghan law and good HR practice.
  • Responsible to oversee the recruitment and induction of new NCA employees
  • Be responsible and oversee the Aditro HR system for the country office
  • Provide support and follow-up with all NCA employees regarding human resources issues and to manage and maintain all NCA employee personnel files
  • Support and advise NCA employees to correctly apply NCA procedures and policies and to assist them in putting together organisational and capacity development plans
  • Ensure files and HR documents are maintained in a fully compliant manner.
  • Perform relevant administrative duties related the Operations department
  • Complete monthly staff payroll and forward to finance department

Job Requirements

The position of HR coordinator is a key position with overall responsibility for NCA HR in Afghanistan. As NCA is growing, we need an experienced and dynamic individual, to take responsibility for a number of pending new recruitments, and with the supervision of the DCD make sure that the HR office is compliant in filing of documentation, on all HR related activities. Support NCA staff with guidance on HR issues and policies. To ensure that NCA is compliant with all government regulations and monitor changes that may come. You should be linked into NGO HR platforms, and ready to advise and assist partners on HR issues.

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience working in HR field with a recognised NGO, with 2 years at Coordinator level.
  • Experience of Aditro HR software an advantage.
  • University Degree in a relevant field or additional work experience
