Job Description

SCOPE OF WORK:

The Health Supervisor/Trainer will be responsible to provide support on technical and management issues, including supervision, monitoring, process of raising PRs, FSRFs and participation in different forms of meetings.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES:

The Health Supervisor/Trainer will be responsible for carrying out the following health related activities but not limited to:

  • Support all health facility staff for improvement of skills and work progress.
  • Provide expert opinion on technical and management issues as the need arises.
  • Carry out those tasks, which are necessary for operational and skilful interventions.
  • Supervise and provide on the job training on technical issues to all health facilities staff
  • Review HFs report before submitting to Senior Health Officer, Kabul, or regional office.
  • Provide support and participate in health surveys, rapid assessment subject to instructions. 
  • Plan seminars on various health topics e.g. HIS, TOT, management, supervision and monitoring etc.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to HSCs based on project need.
  • Participate in task force working group meetings and workshops at regional and provincial levels.
  • Monitor and supervise the progress of training, EPI, IEC, community health development and pharmacy. 
  • Oversee pharmaceutical supplies consumption, report, stock cards and requests of SHCs.

  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct, maintain humanitarian principles and respect international humanitarian law.

Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse:

  • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.

Compliance & Ethics:

  • Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout the International Medical Corps. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.  Conducts work with the highest level of integrity

Safeguarding

  • It is all staff’s shared responsibility and obligation to safeguard and protect populations with whom we work, including adults who may be particularly vulnerable and children. This includes safeguarding from the following conduct by our staff or partners: sexual exploitation and abuse; exploitation, neglect, or abuse of children and adults at risk; and any form of trafficking in persons. 
 

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must be graduated from recognized medical faculty as medical doctor.
  • The candidate must have 2-3 years’ working experience in BPHS/EHPS project or similar health projects with national and international NGOs as health supervisor. Preference will be given to the locals of the duty station.
  • The candidate must be able to travel hard to reach districts of Paktika province.
  • The candidate must have good human and communication skill.
  • The candidate must be able to speak and write fluently in Dari and Pashto and English will be a plus point.
