About Organization of Human Welfare (OHW):

The Organization of Human Welfare (OHW) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) and is non-political, not-for-profit, and impartial organization with no bias towards a particular religion, ethnicity, or political belief. It has its own independent legal status and entity. OHW is registered with the Ministry of Economy in Kabul, Afghanistan (Registration No: 1014) and is a member of South West Afghanistan and Baluchistan Agency for Coordination (SWABAC), the coordinating body for NGOs in southern Afghanistan. The Managing Director of OHW also formally represents SWABAC in coordination meetings at the national level.

Job Description

The Health Project Manager develops, leads, monitors and evaluates the assigned health project. This involves effectively managing and reporting on the projects in line with the objectives, timeframe and budget with a focus on health system strengthening, training and coordination. Other important aspects of the role include managing and training primary health care staff to meet MoPH quality standards in health care delivery, encouraging beneficiary participation, liaising with other stakeholders, and anticipating, planning, and contributing to the development of new health project proposals and reports.

  • The project manager must effectively communicate with (MOPH) , PHD Kabul, BPHS implementer,  NGOS, line ministries clients and other stakeholders to create supportive environment at line department and community level for effective implementation of project planned activities.
  • Lead timely happening project planned procurement kits, medicine and other supplies) in coordination with related departments within the organization.
  • Conduct visits to project implementation sites, with focus on the smooth implementation of quality services.
  • Liaise with line manager to ensure the effective and efficient program delivery
  • Ensure that the program operates within the approved budget.
  • Coordinate the delivery of services among different program activities to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Actively participate in Health clusters meeting
  • Write monthly and quarterly, semiannual and annual and HMIS report to partner and PHD Kabul and national EPI   progress reports on the program for management and donor and Providing week and monthly update to the cluster.
  • Provide on the job training to the PHS project staff
  • Ensure that the flow of information to and from OHW is relevant to the aid community and accommodate for changes in the environment.
  • Moderate Advocacy Committees Meetings and events.
  •  What is this not relevant Organizing the training to government department with the coordination senior management.
  • Participate in meetings and events invited by donors, government and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure adequate communication with all local Partners as well as their training and capacity development.
  • Translate texts and presentations from National languages (Dari and Pashto) into English and vice versa.
  • Not  relevant editing and translating training and campaign materials in consultation with the Senior Management Team, recruit, interview and select well-qualified program staff as per project need.
  •  Identify and evaluate the risks associated with program activities and take appropriate action to control the risks.
  • Respect the Afghan culture, keeping events and themes tuned and balanced in all program activities.
  • Report evaluation findings to the Program Manager and recommend changes to enhance the program, as appropriate.

Job Requirements

  • Graduated From Recognize Medical University.
  • Effective communication skills with fluency in English, Persian and Pashto. 
  • At least 5 years of proven experience of working with NGOs in implementation of health and emergency projects.  
  • Strong building relationship skills with MOPH, PPHD, and health project implication organizer and stakeholders
  • High communication skills to establish relationship with body coordination's 
  • Good in report writing and required computer skills (MS office)
  • Able to visit to districts in Kabul province
