Job Description

OCHR is a national non-governmental organization established in Afghanistan in 2015 to play a vital role in humanitarian and development settings, and to contribute towards the peace building in the country where the people can live in amity and harmony.

In humanitarian situations emerging as result of conflict or natural disasters, natural, the response encompasses the provision of tools and resources i.e. to reduces the suffering and increase self-sufficiency.

Our approach includes sustainable development, focusing on ultra-poor communities of Afghanistan. The endeavors focus on social and economic development of the people dwelling in remotes parts of the country.

Through peacebuilding efforts, we envision Afghanistan a socially inclusive society where peace and prosperity remains a fate for every individual living in this territory. Promote the social cohesion, curtailing extremism in all forms, inclusiveness of peace processes where children, women and marginalized groups have a voice.

 

Job Description:

  • Responsible for Safe Guarding-AAP and risk assessment related tasks to ensure equality and mainstream cross cutting issues during the project life time and regularly report on the progress and gaps during the project.
  • Provide technical guidance on integration of the survivor-centred approach into Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse-PSEA complaints mechanisms and enhance access of SEA survivors to existing GBV services Planning / Programming.
  • Support the development and implementation of programming for specialized GBV prevention and response based on needs, risks and capacity assessments.
  • Participate in conducting, consolidating and reporting on GBV assessments including gender equality components.
  • Support cross-cutting programs and technical sectors to mainstream gender and to program for mitigation of GBV risks in their specific technical areas, and report on progress. Capacity Development, Technical Support and Coordination.
  • Provide technical guidance and support field staff to operationalize and comply with OCHR GBV policy, priorities and commitments (aligned with policies AAP, Child protection, disability, code of conduct and gender equality).
  • Support operational capacity development efforts and provide technical support on gender and GBV mainstreaming to project staff.  
  • Under the guidance of the Program/Project Manager, support and facilitate the establishment of and ensure the functioning of GBV coordination mechanisms with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate and strengthen the development and implementation of GBV Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Support and build capacity and systems for individual GBV case management for survivors and persons at-risk of GBV.
  • Participate in technical meetings with GBV, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse-PSEA, Accountability to Affected Population-AAP, and protection clusters.
  • Representing OCHR in WASH, FSAC, and ES/NFI clusters. Especially on GBV issues and findings during project implementation.
  • Ensuring interventions meet required standards through training and following standard operating protocols (SOPs).
  • Ensure safe and ethical GBV data collection and reporting is functioning and regular reporting is done on GBV.

Job Requirements

  • University degree in Social Science, Sociology, Law or women rights, Research and Survey with specialization in humanitarian response programs.  
  • Three years of experience in similar roles with preferably two years in NGO’s, INGO’s sector. Similar experience in UN is considered an asset.       
  • Technical and practical competence in humanitarian response projects and assessments, especially in emergency response programs.
  • Experience in managing tough clients, during face-to-face surveys and interviews.
  • Excellent written and oral English language skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Prior experience with WASH, FSAC, and ES/NFI clusters. Especially on GBV issues and findings during project implementation., relevant UN agencies or at least NGOs.
  • Structured, well organized and self-driven
  • Excellent communication, cooperation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build other people’s capacity
  • Culture and conflict sensitive
