Job Description

The Food Distributor is responsible for distribution of food commodities and cash on the field according to the methodologies and guidelines provided by HEERO. He is responsible for transparent distribution, monitoring beneficiaries’ enrolment, verifying their identity card.
The food distributor is required to conduct the distributions to the beneficiaries on the monthly basis, prepare distribution reports and ensure compliance with the minimum donor’s requirements. The incumbent is responsible to ensure that all necessary distribution equipment is available at the distribution point.

II. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Arrange, organize and attend distributions and provide distribution lists:
• Organize food and cash distributions according to SOP defined by HEERO.
• To distribute food commodities and cash to eligible beneficiaries strictly following verification process, methodology and standards defined by HEERO and partner agencies;
• To collect all the data needed for reporting after distributions.
• Submit accurate and detailed reports on distributions and assistance provided to beneficiaries during distributions.
• Ensure that all commodities entrusted to HEERO arriving at food distribution point are properly accounted for.
• Take active role in the registration and verification of beneficiaries to ensure that the process is fair
• Organize and supervise general food and cash distributions in the field.
• Ensure that the food and cash distribution point is properly organized and secured with ropes and crowd control measures put in place to ensure smooth distribution and flow of beneficiaries.
• Responsible to ensure that all necessary distribution equipment is available at the distribution point, including forms, ropes, banners, plastic sheets, measuring devices etc.
• Prepare distribution point visit reports, food and cash monitors report.
• Ensure proper completion and safe return of all tally documents and beneficiary lists to the office for safe storage.
• Ensure proper accounting of all quantities of commodities received and distributed at each distribution point.
• Verify beneficiaries based on the WFP vulnerability criteria for Unconditional Seasonal Support project.
• Distribute food and cash among the vulnerable beneficiaries in the target districts.
• Prepare beneficiaries’ distribution list and distribution plan before the distribution process.
• Maintaining proper hard and soft filing system of all related documents
• Perform any other duties delegated by the supervisor.
III. QUALIFICATIONS: (Minimum Requirements)
A. EDUCATION:
At least High School (12th class) graduate, university degree is preferable
B. WORK EXPERIENCE:
At least two years’ experience in emergency response programs and related fields.
Previous work experience with WFP projects will be a bonus for the candidate.
C. SKILLS:
• Interpersonal and communication skills
• Data management and documentation skills
• Computer literacy and good command of word processing and spreadsheet and other database related programs.
• Assessment, distribution management, community mobilization and report writing.
D. Languages:
• Fluent in Speaking and writing of national languages.
• Good witting and reading skill of English Language.
E. GENERAL:
Good level of communication skills, conflict resolution and decision making capacities. The position will be required to travel to all project areas and willingness to work in emergency situations under difficult life conditions.
