About (WVO) Women's Voice Organization:

Women’s Voice Organization (WVO) is a non-governmental, non-partisan, non-political, non-profit, impartial, voluntary organization operating in Afghanistan and its environs. The Women’s Voice Organization (WVO) was established in June 2019 and is registered as a Non- Governmental Organization whose aims are to Alleviate Poverty, Promote Good Governance, peaceful and secure societies, and Access to Public Education. The organization is registered with the Ministry of Economy (MoEC) under license #: 4881.

 

The formation of WVO was informed by the need to improve the risk awareness, peace building conflict resolution and prevention of violent extremist and other challenges of socio-economic conditions of the disadvantaged communities members with particular emphasis on youth and villages residents to alleviate the suffering which was on its peak at that time as a result of frequent insecurity shocks and natural disasters and lack of awareness. The NGO also sought to accelerate the development of the rural-urban poor areas, and reduce poverty, morbidity, and mortality rates of women and children.

Job Description:

We require an experienced Finance Manager preferably a Male/ female to manage all aspects of financial and administrative operations for our Main and regional offices. This critical leadership role oversees financial reporting and planning, budgeting, audits, policy setting as well as team development and performance management.

He will ensure activities adhere to the organization's rules and regulations and accounting standards, provide financial insights to inform strategic decisions and implement best practices for financial controls and risk management.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Financial Reporting & Planning

  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for management, tax authorities and other stakeholders
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations including A/R, A/P, payroll, expense reporting etc.
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements adhering to GAAP and local reporting standards
  • Develop financial models, analysis and insights to support budgets, forecasts, and investment decisions
  • Liaise with auditors to coordinate annual financial statement audits
  • Monitor financial performance and analyze variances, and trends against plans and accruals

Accounting, Tax and Banking

  • Ensure proper monthly, quarterly and annual tax computations and filings with the Ministry of Finance - MTO
  • Manage organizational cash flow, reserves, bank transaction compliances
  • Maintain up-to-date tax and legal records for local authorities
  • Establish accounting policies, procedures, controls, and documentation in line with local regulations and GAAP
  • Manage payables and receivables; ensure accurate invoicing and collections

Systems and Controls

  • Oversee the operation of the QuickBooks accounting system, including access rights, data entry, integrity, controls, or any other ERP solution
  • Establish a financial approval matrix for transactions, procurement, payments
  • Improve finance/accounting information systems to provide timely and accurate analysis

Team Management

  • Recruit, onboard, and develop high-performing team members
  • Manage administrative functions including office upkeep, vendor Management, and record keeping
  • Conduct performance evaluations, set individual development plans
  • Foster a culture of financial discipline through ongoing training
 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor in Finance, ACCA or MBA qualification required
  • 5-7 years as a financial manager in a similar role, preferably with INGOs, NGO
  • Leadership abilities 
  • Expert proficiency in QuickBooks (alternative acceptable), Excel, PowerBI
  • Strong business acumen with excellent analytical abilities
  • Excellent written English and local language skills
  • Familiarity with project cycle financial management and donor reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience managing substantial budgets.
  • Demonstrated experience of capacity building of staff through coaching, training, and mentoring.
  • Dynamic and motivated individual with a positive attitude to problem-solving.
  • Strong focus on timely and quality outputs.
