About Future Generations Afghanistan

Future Generations (FG) is the collective name for an international network of non-governmental organizations including FG Country Programs in Asia and Africa, Future Generations University (FGU) and its alumni in 17 countries, academia, and individual’s experts. The original charitable organization, Future Generations, was established in 1992 for the purpose of learning from, and building upon the world’s most successful examples of community empowerment and social change. It is complemented by the Future Generations Graduate School (Future Generations University) in 2006 in the State of West Virginia with authorization to provide a Master's Degree in Applied Community Change focus on Conservation and Peace building.  The Future Generations Afghanistan (FGA) established in May 2002 and obtained its registration certificate from Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan in October 2005.  Since 2007, FGA has been operational in Eastern Afghanistan, and successfully completed development and humanitarian programs in Nangarhar, Laghman , Kunar,Nuristan,Logar, Herat and Bamyan Provinces.

Job Description

She is responsible for providing training to all targeted right-holders on poultry forming topics including but not limited to feeding, breeding, drinking, disease prevention and market and linkage. She will provide update and reports on trainings to project manager and also provide support to the project field staff and guide the field staff in considerable points to during the distribution of the poultry package. The female trainer will also engage in beneficiary profile survey to ensure female inclusion in project and also contribute in PDM as well. She is required to the end of project to provide female related support to all female beneficiaries

Job Requirements

  • work closely with the poultry producer groups and monitor poultry activities in the focus provinces and district
  • Linkage the poultry farms beneficiaries to market and suppliers
  • Deliver standard training messages to the targeted beneficiaries according to the training manual produced by poultry project manager
  • Attend staff meetings and prepare weekly reports
  • Report to project Manager on poultry project inputs/activities according to the agreed project ToR specification and manage the poultry inputs especially pullets feed drinkers feeders wire mesh vaccines and medicines etc
  • Coordination / linkages with other partners working in livestock/poultry sector
  • Observes and evaluate the classes to determine progress and make suggestions for improvements
  • Makes sure trainees understand the contents of training by best method/practices of training.
  • Keep all the records of poultry activities input delivery /supply and assured the quality and quantity of inputs
  • Report any outbreak of poultry disease to project team immediately
  • Design and implementation of poultry training for selected beneficiaries
  • Prepare and provide training material for the duration of poultry training
  • Help poultry monitor to plan and implement the poultry activities
  • Prepares monthly training plan for vocational classes

Qualification: 

  • Communication skill of English, Pashto & Dari
  • Good communication (spoken and written) skills, including ability to explain and present program related information/requirements.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people
  • Practical knowledge of poultry farming, feeds and feeding, diseases management and vaccination, poultry marketing and general farm management.
  • Presentation skill   Reporting skill
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
