Overview of position
Treatment of severe acute malnutrition (SAM) is one of the key components of PND activities serviced through BPHS NGOS. It is primarily implemented in the emergency affected provinces where the prevalence of SAM is high. The services will be expanded as part of emergency response once there is emergency induced SAM cases. Therapeutic nutrition supplies (e.g F-75, F-100 and RUTF) are core elements of the services. PND manage the overall supply chain including forecasting, requesting, distributing, and collecting the reports on a quarterly basis.
Purpose of the post:
The main objective of this assignment is to support PND to manage quality IMAM services delivery as inpatient care and outpatient care. Also, to manage the therapeutic supply and minimize the nutrition supply stock outs through improved nutrition supply management system. The technical assistance will also be responsible for emergency related activities in PND including coordinating with Nutrition cluster.
Monitoring and supportive supervision of targeted public schools and UNICEF-supported Community-based Education (CBE), Accelerated Learning Program (ALP), and Early Child Development (ECD) classes at provincial, district, and community levels.
Ensure that UNICEF Supported Community Based Education (CBS, ALP, ECD) Classes are well functioning, children attending and learning.
Monitoring the implementation of UNICE Work Plan activities and report on children’ access to education, quality learning, and community engagement.
Checking whether the CBE/ALP/ECD classes are linked to nearby hub (formal) schools through regular monitoring, as determined by UNICEF Quality Assurance measures.
Monitoring and documenting the transition of CBE/ALP/ECD classes to hub schools.
Overseeing textbooks and Teaching Learning Materials (TLM) supply delivery to planned schools and their distribution to students by tracking supply delivery with school principals and shura and parents.
Conducting regular visits to textbooks warehouses at the PEDs and report the findings.
Monitoring teachers and students’ attendance in CBE/ALP/ECD classes.
Conducting area assessments to ensure that CBE and ALP classes are established in areas where children have no access to public schools while reporting issues to ZOs for necessary actions.
Assuring that School Management Shuras (SMS) have been established and are functioning.
Performing skill needs assessment of PED academic supervision staff and school personnel (when needed) and organizing required capacity development training (e.g. planning, data collection, data analysis, and monitoring/supervision and reporting);
Monitoring UNICEF-funded school construction projects to ensure contractors fulfill their work according to their work plan.
Performing any other duties assigned by UNICEF Zos.
Education
A university degree is required in Educationوsocial science or other relevant
Experience
A minimum of five (3) years of relevant experience, at the national and/or international levels, in Education or community project monitoring, supervision, education quality assurance and/or other directly related technical fields is required.
Language
Fluency in oral and written English is required. Understanding of the local languages are required.
