We work with families, communities and health workers in homes, clinics and hospitals to promote basic health in order to save lives of children and mothers

Job Description

The Job holder will be working closely with Head of Education and NGOs coordination Department in the External Relation and Donor Affairs Directorate of Ministry of Education. The position holder will spend split the %age time between SCI Country Office and Ministry of Education.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Responsible for capacity and technical support to the MOE and other education teams on the education programs including MoUs, reports, implementation, and monitoring, as well as supervision and coordination of all other activities assigned to the job holder for ensuring smooth Program implementation and facilitation.
  • Provide technical support to Donor Relation Directorate in the MoE on INGO and Local NGOs Education activities and programs, relations, coordination, and communication,
  • Work with the provincial teams including PCOs to coordinate smooth implementation, problem solving, reports collection and IPs management at provincial level and provide necessary reports and information about provincial activities,
  • Provide technical support to MOE on communication/ correspondences, reviewing reports, and following up reports with relevant technical departments to get the feedback of technical departments.
  • Provide necessary support, advice, and inputs on development of educational plans, strategies and programs on ensuring access to all children to quality education and learning opportunities with special focus on vulnerable and marginalized groups including out of school children, children with disabilities and girl’s education. This includes both formal schools and Community Based Education.
  • Work with the MOE teams to make sure the process of transition from INGOs to local NGOs is smooth, transparent, and technically sound and acceptable to international and local standards, donors, MoE and INGOs.
  • Work with provincial teams on reporting, monitoring and share the feedback with relevant technical teams at MoE and follow up for solutions and feedback.
  • Support and collaborate with the other education coordination platforms including the Education cluster, DPGs and Education STWGs etc.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Social Sciences, Education, or related educational areas.

 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • 5 years progressive work experiences in the Education Sector, M&E, handling Partners, program and project implementation, trainings.
  • Experience in education trends and standards including INEE Minimum Standards, Education in Emergencies concepts and practices, child protection standards and other cross cutting areas like disability and inclusion, GBV, Child Safeguarding and accountability to affected population (AAP) etc.

 

Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of the country and government structures at national and sub-national levels
  • Strong technical, teambuilding skills, and experience.
  • Proven competence in monitoring and evaluation of education programs implementation plans for programs and projects.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills

Languages: Written and Spoken fluency in English, Pashto and Dari languages is a must.
