After the emergency has passed and our disaster-relief effort has ended, we shift from emergency medical response to long-term medical support and training. HEWAD provides resources and training to help local staff provide a range of services—including healthcare, food, water and sanitation support—to their communities.

Job Description

Education project assistant will facilitate and Supervise all aspects of Education project implementation at district level, distribution of administration , education and school materials , support teachers training  programmes , follow up and monitor activities to make evaluations and  suggest improvements to the  project .

Responsibilities: 

  • Assisting Project Education Officer in establishing appropriate systems, mechanism to implement the CBE- program in partnership with NRC, Community and district education authorities.
  • Assisting the project Education officer in development of monthly plans, and prepare bi-weekly and monthly reports.
  • Distribution of kits (textbook, student kit, and hygiene kit), teacher and class (class kit and cooling/warming facility) kits
  • Establish links among communities, hub schools, DED and local stakeholders in order to maintain and strengthen good relationship for better implementation of the project interventions.
  • Participation in the external district level education meetings and represent the CBE project in a well manner.
  •  Work closely with communities (CECs and SMCs) and the District Education Department (DED)/ Provincial Education Department (PED)) to improve the quality of learning and access to basic education.
  • Supervise the work of site supervisors, CBE teachers and or facilitators and assist them in the delivery of project work plan.
  • Organize monthly and bi-monthly meetings of CECs, SMCs, SCs and DED) and record through proper minutes.
  • Arrange joint monitoring visits for hub schools, DED and PED/MOE to see and monitor the CBE classes. The finding would be shared through a proper report.
  • Follow up the implementation of the Detailed Implementation Plans (IPs) for all components of the project.
  • Support the site supervisors in implementation of the field work by having proper on job training and mentoring planning.
  • Properly plan the bi-weekly field visits from the CBE classes and provide the respective finding through a comprehensive report.
  • Curry out on the job monitoring of project activities, maintain accurate record, analysis, facilitate & assist in monitoring & evaluation of project activities with support of NRC & other stakeholders.
  • Report project work progress information to program coordinator after completion of each monitoring & evaluation process.
  • Assist education trainer in identify the location of training needs and in organizing training workshops for targeted project beneficiaries. Organize and lead participatory workshops/meeting in the village for implementation of education program and project relevant activities.
  •  Provide necessary administrative support in facilitation of workshops and trainings for potential stakeholders and beneficiaries
  • Keep the records of relevant monthly and quarterly progress reports of the project.
  •  Update the filling system daily, weekly and monthly bases with incoming and outgoing correspondence with DED, PED and MOE.
  •  Carry out any other relevant task assigned by the line manager

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor/Master Degree in Education
  •  at least 3 years of specific related experience in Community based education
  • Good communication skills particularly in the local language (Dari/Pashtu)
  • Speaking and writing ability in English
  • Skill of implementing activities in coordination with the District Education Department, other Govt. officials, local elected bodies, NGOs, project experts, and concerned community members Employee must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  •  Organizational and time management skills are needed to ensure programs are completed by the scheduled time.
  • Ability to organize and conduct different seminars, and workshops for teacher and staff development.
  • Interpersonal skills needed to work with a variety of people throughout the organization.
  • Ability to work under pressure and be honest and responsible.
