Interventions aim to increase demand, access and quality of health services. Lead by Jhpiego and implemented by a dynamic consortium of organizations, UHI is implemented in five cities in Afghanistan – Kabul, Herat, Mazar-e-Sharif, Jalalabad and Kandahar.

Job Description

Position Overview
The eMentorship Advisor coordinates and leads UHI’s interventions to support the establishment of a
virtual mentorship process (further referred to as eMentoring) to provide capacity development and
technical support to service providers and health facilities in 5 major cities.
• Position Reports to: MEL Associate Director
• Supervisory position: No
• Location: Kabul
Responsibilities
• Provide oversight and lead the eMentoring in the five targeted cities including a startup,
implementation and scale-up across different technical areas (e.g. TB, Child Health, Safe Surgery)
• Develop and maintain implementation guidance, templates, and formats to support the implementation
of eMentorship.
• Advocate, coordinate and collaborate with counterparts and stakeholders (e.g. MOPH, Hospitals,
professional associations) to jointly plan and implement eMentorship.
• Provide implementation and technical support for the implementation of eMentoring through “hub”
facilities / technical experts virtually connected to “spoke” facilities and health service providers.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop curriculum, and content and to support the delivery
of content using a virtual platform

• Develop and maintain system for participants to communicate between sessions to discuss questions
and support learning
• Plan for and coordinate ongoing monitoring and feedback for eMentoring ensuring quality data
collection and analysis. Use data to improve or adapt approaches and strengthen implementation
• Identify and disseminate best practices and new strategies and approaches
• Participate in the project’s internal meetings and share challenges and lessons learned in implementing
activities in areas of technical expertise
• Comply with UHI project operational, security, and other guidelines and policies.
• Coordinate with the knowledge management team to ensure a documentation platform for all clinicalrelated
activities.
• Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports regarding echo systems for the management.
• Develop and maintain the dashboard for echo sessions to present a clear picture of activities.
• Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications and Experience:
• Computer science bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant work experience
• Previous practical experience in training and capacity development
• Previous experience with technology platforms (e.g. Webinar platforms, SMS, IVR, helplines)
• Strong skills in facilitation, collaboration, and coordination
• Ability to work in teams, across a diverse team in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short
deadlines, and intense pressure to perform
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including strong writing, analytical, and
communication skills in Dari, Pashtu, and English
• Experience working with Microsoft Office software applications
