vIslamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is an international, non-profitable, non-governmental humanitarian relief organization with its head quarter in Birmingham, UK. It enjoys consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and is a signatory to the Code of Conduct for International Red Cross and red Crescent Moments and NGOs in Disaster Relief. Islamic Relief has been working in Afghanistan for more than 23 years, providing emergency relief and implementing life-changing development projects for some of the most vulnerable people in the country. Islamic Relief set up our first Afghanistan office in 1999. Since then, IRA continued providing assistances in emergency relief, food security, livelihood, education, health, nutrition, shelter, orphan sponsorship, Ramadan and Qurbani programmes.

 

Job Description:

Job Summary

The community mobilizer will report and work under the direct supervision of CREATE project officer in Kabul province. The community mobilizer will work closely with communities in order to facilitate the environment for the beneficiary selection process, community level coordination, conducting meetings,

Duties & Responsibilities

  •  To provide technical and administrative support to CREATE project interventions through frequent monitoring and supervision.
  • Supporting orphan sponsorship program officer in collection of annual progress reports.
  • Supervise the day-to-day management of livelihood interventions, and community services.
  • Assist project officer in work planning and identification of project RHs.
  • Create awareness of project aim and objectives in the communities.
  • Motivate community people through orientation sessions and project briefs.
  • Responsible for reporting and maintaining the record updated on daily basis.
  • Good in communication and flexible, able to present organization on different platforms.
  • As team member, skills to motivate the community people and team members to develop project activities, planning, and reporting.
  • Identification and involvement of the vulnerable groups and families in the project planning and implementation.
  • Regularly report of the progress of the project
  • Keep records of all achievements and challenges for the lesson learned
  • Support the project officer in creating and managing self-help groups.
  •  Creating SHGs and arrange regular orientation and meetings with SHGs members.
  • Attend staff meetings and serve committee as required.
  • Attend Capacity building training conducted by IRA
  • Perform any other tasks as required. 

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Diploma, 14 Grade in social science, development, economics, administration or related field and Bachelor’s degree is preferable.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum  2-3 years’ work experience at NGOs in the field community mobilizations.

Skills:

  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skill
  • Ability to act in own initiative.
