Job Description

Job Purpose

The Community midwife/female nurse works in Mobile Team to predominantly provide awareness on basic health messages focused on women and girl’s needs, provide first aid services, referrals to the health facilities and work closely with Psychosocial Counsellor to support women and girls holistically to meet their needs. The position holder is also responsible to provide regular reports to the protection officer/project manager on the work delivered at the field level.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide awareness on basic health messages focused on women and girls’ health needs, provide first aid service, referral to the health facilities and work closely with psychosocial counselors to support women and girls to meet their needs.
  • Provide medical first aid support to women and girls in the community health education/PSS center.
  • Ensure informed consent before providing medical and psychosocial assistance to women and girls.
  • Ensure Safe referrals of vulnerable women and girls to the nearby health facilities in case of need.
  • Demonstrate and ensure the highest quality of culturally sensitive education on child/early marriage, family planning, or other related topics from the Islamic perspective in the targeted communities.
  • Provide information on available services and assistance to vulnerable women and girls
  • Keeping records of the work completed
  • Working in a team and ensuring that concerns and issues  are identified in the initial stages and addressed  amicably.
  • Provide support to the PSS / Training Officer with adequate information, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting, and problem-solving
  • Attending all relevant meetings requested by the supervisor relevant to the project goals.
  • Assist in other duties requested by the supervisor

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Holding a degree from a registered midwifery/nursing school or relevant educational institute.

Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar capacity

proven experience in the provision of first aid services, and basic health awareness.

3 years of experience in a similar capacity

Proven experience in the provision of first aid services, and basic health awareness/support is desirable.

Competency

Relationships: Able to build good relationships with the women beneficiaries, women community focal points, and other women actors).

Able to use survivor-centered service provision approach. Seeks to understand problems from the beneficiary’s point of view, identifies beneficiary’s needs, and provide the required services

Communication: Speaks and writes clearly and effectively. Listens to others and shows real commitment to maintaining open communication with the beneficiaries and team members.

Teamwork: Committed to working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve project goals/objectives. Willing to learn from others and open to feedback.

Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Strong communication, facilitation, and writing skills with fluency in spoken and written Dari, and Pashto

Willingness, enthusiasm, and experience in working with vulnerable women, and IDPs with a special focus on their social empowerment

Demonstrated ability to provide specialized services to beneficiaries, effectively plan, and set priorities.

Familiarity with provision of basic health/first aid services to people in community

Teamwork: Committed to working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve project goals/objectives. Willing to learn from others and open to feedback.

Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
