Job Description

Job Purpose:

Apply medical and nutritional protocols to ensure the care of the beneficiaries in health facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Give the necessary supervision, care, and advice to women during pregnancy, labor, and the post-partum period.
  • Manage complication in pregnancy and childhood, in accordance with the principles of basis emergency obstetric care.
  • Provide primary care to women of reproductive age, in accordance with BPHS
  • Support the provision of primary health care within the community.
  • Counsel and educate women, the family and community, in relevant areas of health including preparation for parenthood and childbirth.
  • Obtain specialized assistant as necessary (Consultation or referral).
  • Share knowledge, skill, and expertise with medical, midwifery and nursing student and resident staff, in management of pregnancy and childbirth, acting as a clinical preceptor.
  • Perform limited, select administrative duties such as patient charting, recording, and reporting, and reporting of data, clinic and/or facility management, or coordination of specific educational or outreach program.
  • Participate in research, professional organization, and related committees and in continuing education opportunities.
  • Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement initiative, safety, environmental, and infection prevention standard.
  • Identify and report immediately any problem which interfere in the delivery of services or in achieving the program objectives to team leader, and team leader to his/her immediate supervisor.
  • Participate in weekly meeting of MHT to share information and discuss the program progress.

As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.  Conducts work with the highest level of integrity

Job Requirements

  1. Afghan Nation
  2. Graduated from recognized midwifery institute or university.
  3. Good interpersonal skill
  4. Minimum 1-2 years of experience working as a midwifery with mobile health team or health facility
