About International Assistance Mission (IAM)

Background

The International Assistance Mission (IAM) is an International Non-Government Organization registered in Switzerland (registration #CH-660-1239000-6) and Afghanistan (registration #001). IAM is one of the oldest NGOs in Afghanistan.

IAM established the NOOR (National Organization for Ophthalmic Rehabilitation) Eye Care Programme in 1966 with the goal of providing high quality and affordable access to eye care to the people of Afghanistan.

The International Assistance Mission (IAM) is serving the people of Afghanistan through capacity building in the sectors of Health and Economical Development.

 Dashte Barchi Eye Clinic is a project of IAM, which provides affordable eye care service for the people of Afghanistan and located in MoPH regional hospital (شفاخانه دو صد بستر دشت برچی) in Dashte Barchi Kabul.

Job Description

Key responsibilities and tasks

 

  1. Responsible for the collection of all hospital’s income received from the patients.
  1. Surgery, Optical and Medicine Fees -Record these fees and verify correctness with records kept by Database & relate departments.
  2. Procedure and other income Fees – Record all procedure and other income fees from (B-scan, refraction, artificial eye and other) and verify correctness with records kept by Database and relate departments.
  1. Account for payment of income to Finance officer.
  1. The income received from patients must be returned to administration finance officer and receive receipt voucher for that. The receipts should be kept in record.
  1. Account for the safe and money received daily from patients.
  1. Prepare daily cash balance sheet, preparing and recording book balance, cash balance and safe check.
  2. Working with the Administrator, ensure that cash and book totals balance.
  1. Account for patient fee discounts and free treatment awarded NOOR CPC patients.

  3. Perform financial bookkeeping and data entry.
  1. Keep financial databases updated daily and verify totals and entries for accuracy and completeness.
  2. Maintain records of free and discounted care.
  3. Review and verify regional office financial reports with hospital records and ensure that discrepancies are resolved correct.
  1. Prepare financial reports.
  1. Print income reports on daily basis and based on that all income must be paid to administration on daily basis.
  2. Ensure that all required reports are submitted on time.
  3. Report all income category based to finance and program Manager.
  1. Assist with Administration tasks and other needs as required.
  2. Ability to improved knowledge and skills.
  3. Responsible to keep all financial record safe and organized.
  4. Liaise with and assist external auditor in respect of annual financial statements and related matters.
  5. Attend all relevant internal meetings that assist with the development.
  6. In financial matters the cashier is responsible for Finance officer and IAM NOOR finance Manager.

  1. Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity.
  2. Good working knowledge of both written and spoken English, Fluent of both written and spoken Dari/Pashto are required.
  3. Computer skills using MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  4. Accounting software and database experience
  5. Punctuality and reliability
  6. Absolute integrity, especially with money
  7. Willingness to work within IAM core values
  8. Ability to resist pressure from staff and others
  9. Excellent administrative skills
  10. Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  11. Good problem-solving skills
  12. Ability to think quickly, clearly, and analytically under pressure
