Job Description

The Child Protection Case Management Supervisor will directly report to the Project Manager, the CP Case management supervisor will be supervising the implementation of the Case Management activities in the various communities/Districts of Urozgan and Zabul Provinces, to ensure the provision of quality mentoring, coaching, and supervision of social workers/caseworkers which will translate to better and quality case management delivery, supervise and participate in case conferences and case reviews/case conference, coordinate with relevant stakeholders involved in case management. The Case Management Supervisor will ensure that case management activities are consistent with KRO’s programming principles and approaches as well as with Global child protection standards & principles, draw on relevant best practices and lessons learned, to enable children to attain their rights and are compliant with donor regulations

Having the responsibilities of conducting capacity building training for CFS Animators, Social Worker and case Workers with the support of Master Trainer, all the training materials/handouts are prior prepared.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide support on and keep up to date, with a map of existing services to which children and families can be referred to.
  2. Link Case Workers with service providers and support effective collaboration.
  3. Supervise and coach Case Workers and Social Workers on the identification, assessment, documentation, referral (to relevant services), and follow-up of at-risk children and families
  4. Supervise and support the Case Workers and Social Workers in CFS visit and Community visits.
  5. Organize weekly case management conferences/ case reviews with all Case Workers and Social workers.
  6. Ensure that Case Workers and Social Workers respect confidentiality and follow ethical guidelines.
  7. Ensure that files, registers, and computer databases are used in an appropriate and correct manner and ensure Case Workers and Social workers adhere to proper documentation and data protection protocols.
  8. Support the implementation of the Inter-Agency Child Protection Information Management System.
  9. Review the follow-up of cases and ensure all cases are managed within acceptable timelines.
  10. Work in close collaboration with the Case Workers, Social Workers, CFS animators, community-based volunteers and other KRO’s staff to strengthen our relationship with the community and to strengthen the referral system.
  11.  Work with the child protection entire team to ensure close links between case management and our work with community-based child protection mechanisms.
  12. Ensure constant and transparent communication and collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including community members, community leaders, and families
  13. Document best practices, case studies and learning. (Success stories)
  14. Share information on field-level successes and challenges with the project assistant for donor reporting.
  15. Ensure that major challenges are flagged early and addressed in an appropriate way.
  16. Facilitate, collect, and report information regarding the overall situation of child protection risks.
  17. Support the preparation of all procurement and administrative documents required for case management implementation.
  18. Submit regular case management reports to Snr reporting officer and ensure that information is kept up to date.
  19. Coordinate with other agencies offering case management services to children on referral and transfer of cases.
  20. Ensure core commitments to children are taken into consideration at all times.

 

Advocacy and Networking

  1. Represent the organization in the local case management Interagency Coordination meetings, liaise with relevant Government line agencies, Provincial CPAN, District CPAN, UN agencies and I/NGOs working in the field of operation.
  2. Contribute to strengthening the capacity of Civil Society Organizations and Institutions in line with the organization’s policies and strategies.
  3. Liaise with other humanitarian actors in project locations to jointly advocate on child protection and Case Management issues.

Reporting

  1. Prepare and submit weekly, monthly reports on case management activities.
  2. Prepare and submit field visits or monitoring reports.
  3. Prepare training reports for both Case Workers and Social Workers including pre and post-test analysis.
  4. Prepare success stories on case management activities with good quality pictures.
  5. Contribute in documenting the response, experience and lessons learned on child protection and Case Management.
  6. Provide input to the development of the child protection intervention.

Capacity Building

  1. Identify training needs, develop and roll out capacity building plan on child protection case management to Case Workers and Social Workers to carry out quality child protection programming.
  2. Identify learning and training opportunities for KRO.

Child Protection

  1. Child Protection: Use observation skills to detect any behavioral changes or specific vulnerability in children that may be the reason for concern and share these observations with the immediate supervisor and social workers team at joint weekly staff meetings to determine appropriate responses.
  2. Ensure that all child protection-related activities are in line with child protection minimum relevant standards and enhance program/activities based on CPMS.

  1. Global Code of Conduct (GCC) Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP), Policy on the Protection from sexual exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), Directive on staff misconduct at Workplace and GBV, Operational Risk Management: Undertake to adhere to the KRO’s PSEA policy and the principles connected to children's rights
  2. Undertake to ensure the best possible practical implementation of the safeguarding policy (Global Code of Conduct) and the management of operational risks in his/her area of intervention and within his/her team.
  3. Ensure all volunteers, and visitors sign/understand KRO’s code of conduct at a glance and my commitment to child safeguarding.

Job Requirements

  1. University degree holder
  2. Minimum of 4 years of work experience in the case management field
  3. In-depth knowledge and understanding of current evidence-based obstetric care and internationally agreed global strategies and interventions for the reduction of Child Protection Concerns.
  4. Experience in applying Behavior Change Communication models.
  5. Fluency in oral and written communication in English including representation, liaison, and negotiation skills in (Pashto and Dari)
  6. Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint presentations, and Excel spreadsheets and budgeting).
  7. Familiarity with the context and cultural dynamics of Urozgan and Zabul Province is highly desirable.
  8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build report and establish effective working relationships with project staff.
  9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, with a high level of self-motivation and initiative.
  10. Fluency in English, Pashto and Dari is required, both written and spoken.
  11. Ability to updated activity trackers.
