About Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA)

SCA Background

The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) has been working in Afghanistan since 1982, presently managing development Programs concerning Health, Education, Rural Livelihoods and Community Governance, with a total annual budget of roughly USD 40 million. The total number of staff is slightly over 7,386.During the last 10 years SCA has undertaken a change process moving from a primarily humanitarian service delivery approach towards more of a developmental role, putting increasing emphasis on capacity development, rights-based programming, and outcome orientation. The mission of SCA is to empower individuals, communities, and local organizations, primarily in rural areas and with particular focus on women, girls, boys and vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, so that they may participate fully in society and influence their own development. Job Description

  • English is must
  •  Excellent Computer skill at operator level, especially with MS Office Package
  • Ability to work under stress/ pressure of work load
  • Self-motivated and active team player
  • Ability of initiative, innovation and accordingly pursue proactively with monitoring and supervision
  • Ability to travel frequently to unsecure areas including Paktika, Ghazni districts & Logar province.            
  • To participate in SCA’s advocacy efforts at provincial level while strengthening SCA-supported national advocacy efforts.
  • To initiate development of case studies and success stories from the impact/result of SCA intervention in organizational development of civil society organizations.
  • To participate in developing of applications/ proposals in civil society organization as well as participating in budget development and activities setting for the unite.
  • To maintain a proper filing system in the respective provincial office. Perform other duties as required
 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree in Science, Social Sciences, Sociology, Economic or related field. Master degree will be an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in capacity development intervention such as training materials development, training facilitation, Mentoring and Coaching of the partners organization and demonstrated experience in programme management life cycle with civil society, community-based organization and/or local authorities within an NGO, UN agencies or similar organization.
  • Experience of grants management/administration
  • Familiarity & experience with financial reporting (single & double data entry system)                    
  • Computer skill at operator level, especially with MS Office packages.
  • Fluency in English and Pashto, Dari, both written and spoken
  •  Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Supervisory, team worker, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience of planning, reporting, and budgeting
  • Ability and willingness to travel to the project sites within Ghazni & Paktika context and adjust to SCA environment.
  • Honest, proactive, and well mannered.
