Job Description

OCHR is a national non-governmental organization established in Afghanistan in 2015 to play a vital role in humanitarian and development settings, and to contribute towards the peace building in the country where the people can live in amity and harmony.

In humanitarian situations emerging as result of conflict or natural disasters, natural, the response encompasses the provision of tools and resources i.e. to reduces the suffering and increase self-sufficiency.

Our approach includes sustainable development, focusing on ultra-poor communities of Afghanistan. The endeavors focus on social and economic development of the people dwelling in remotes parts of the country.

Through peacebuilding efforts, we envision Afghanistan a socially inclusive society where peace and prosperity remains a fate for every individual living in this territory. Promote the social cohesion, curtailing extremism in all forms, inclusiveness of peace processes where children, women and marginalized groups have a voice.

 

 

Job Description:

  • Develop appropriate targeting criteria and mechanisms to ensure the Livestock) needs of identified vulnerable groups are met.
  • Plan and implement food security (Livestock) needs assessment survey and beneficiaries screening and selection for surveillance interventions.
  • Training the project beneficiary in sustainable livestock and dairy management.
  • Preparing Coursebooks and manuals in sustainable farming, livestock production. And dairy management.
  • To develop the livestock (de-worming practices and animal health) training curriculum and methodology.
  • Support the organization and facilitation of livestock-related training sessions for community mobilizers and assisted communities.
  • Support community mobilizers in planning and executing de-worming campaigns (communication with community representatives, arranging de/worming campaigns in the villages, keeping records of supported beneficiaries), keeping records of used items.
  • Support community mobilizers to successfully conduct livestock-related activities that will include market assessments to ensure the market functions in the target area.
  • Lead the distribution of livestock inputs to the affected people in the targeted area.
  • Conduct and support ongoing monitoring of livestock activities, through frequent visits to field sites, to ensure minimum standards for livestock packages and training sessions are met.
  • Assist the Project Coordinator in conducting the Post-Distribution Monitoring-PMD.
  • Ensure maintaining of program files and documentation as per program management minimum standards, including maintaining the confidentiality of beneficiaries’ data.
  • Proactively liaise and build a good rapport with local authority officials, community representatives, and any other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure the participation of beneficiaries and communities, particularly those most vulnerable or at-risk, in all stages of the project cycle where appropriate.
  • Prepare weekly, bi-weekly and monthly reports and submit them to the Project Manager.

Job Requirements

  • University degree in agriculture, livestock, rural development, or similar relevant qualification.         
  • Proven experience in program development, monitoring, and reporting
  • Good written and oral Pashto/English language skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Previous coordination/field implementation experience
  • Previous experience with FSAC cluster, relevant UN agencies
  • Structured, well organized and self-driven
  • Excellent communication, cooperation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build other people’s capacity
  • Culture and conflict-sensitive
