About Company

Background

Cure Hospital is primarily a teaching hospital with services in family medicine, internal medicine, paediatrics, OBGYN, pathology, general surgery, plastic surgery and orthopaedics. The paediatric component of Cure Hospital provides care and consultation services for all children treated at the Hospital or the Family Health Centre as inpatients or outpatients whether routinely or in an emergency situation.

Cure Hospital runs a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). These services need the leadership of an experienced paediatrician.

An important function of the Head of Paediatrics is his/her commitment to training others. The MOPH has recognised a 3-year family medicine residency training program and it is the job of the paediatric department to ensure that by the end of these 3-years, all residents are fully competent in the field of paediatrics.

 Purpose:

The Head of Paediatrics will be responsible for establishing and maintaining good evidence-based, standards of care for patients, both public and private. He/she will be responsible to train and teach the principles of paediatric and neonatal care along with the necesary techniques to doctors training at Cure Hospital and to oversee the practice of paediatrics by these doctors.

The Paediatrician is also responsible for continuing the improvement in quality of care, education and administration of the department. The Paediatrician will ensure that the paediatric staff provide a quality service and follow any National Guidelines that apply to new-born/ paediatric services in Afghanistan.
